Topic: fabulous Thunderbirds Schaumburg Illinois festival
The Fabulous Thunderbirds played at a local fest. The crowd was large but not overlly enthusiastic.Kim WIlson sounded great singing and on the harp.He did about what seemed like a good 15 minute solo on the harp. The 2 guitarists (not Jimmy V)were excellent.I think the crowd familiar with their hits form the past were not expecting a blues show.It not like they didn't like it,it just seemed a a little lack of energy compared to some other "oldies" bands I have seen at fests.I hope that some of the younger crowd got a taste of some killer blues playing and might give the blues a chance.Myself,I enjoyed the show, but would be better I'm sure in a smaller venue.
