Re: VATA Tour

Hi Bibi,
yes we have another gig on the 31st at Podium cafe De Graauwe Hengst - Netherlands. Being trying to get some info on the info as it looks very small and the web site does not much away. Looks like it has an interesting history form the videos.

Martin, this place is NOT in Amsterdam, or even near - it's in Schiedam, a suburb of Rotterdam. sad

Re: VATA Tour

Common George, its just 50 miles, which by UK gig standards is on the doorstep. An hours drive for anyone who cannot make the Dam gig. The Cave wanted exclusivity for the Dam (which is fair enough).

75 km on a Saturday ...
Bibi, what about you? Can't imagine that you'll let that one out. Maybe you need a co-pilot on your bike?

That'll be VATA in Oxford then. I'll let you do the video Pete but I'd appreciate some tips on using the TZ10 (yes, I caved in in the end).

Martin, have you got t-shirts? If so I'll buy one off you on Monday.

Trying to reschedule another gig in the Dam for the 26th/27th. Looking forward to seeing those who can make it, boys are up for it. Andre interview welcome, will email you.
For anyone coming, be prepared, this aint no re-hashed blues band. They is full force blues rock (for want of a better description), that gets into your soul.

Hi Martin. Is that an Amsterdam gig at the 24th AND the 31th???

Bibi, I bought 2 tickets for Philip Sayce at Zeche Bochum on 24th!
VATA in Amsterdam is a bit too far away for me to cry now, but maybe now you are crying that you have a ticket for Philip Sayce in Bochum, Germany and VATA is playing at your doorsteps at home??

After I cried a little, I started complaining why these guys don't tour together....

Since Mike Zito cancelled his gig, there might be a chance that I'll be going. The co-pilot doesn't like bikes sad

George what's the hammer with you???
Get some drink before ;-) close your eyes and enjoy ;-)

I had no idea that Mike Zito is touring. Maybe he had to change plans because of his new band: Royal Southern Brotherhood. Ruf Records writes that this line-up has talent to burn. Could be.

Tear it up in Holland! I know you're going to tonight in the Dam smile                         Cathy

                                                                                                   Enjoy!!

Re: VATA Tour

Cathy got to listen in to three numbers, but sadly the sound over the phone was not too good. The video sound is better, though not perfect due to the acoustics of a very small bar with low ceiling. Neverthless, it's good enough for y'all to enjoy this wonderful young band and marvel and what fine players they are at their ages! Virge is 20, Gabe is 18, while Adam is all of 21! big_smile

This is Scuttlebuttin and What am I to do. More to come tomorrow after I eventually catch up to the hour I"ve just lost.

Re: VATA Tour

I have the feeling that I lost more than 1 hour this weekend . I definitely missed more than 1 hour sleep.
Weekend started on Friday at 10:00 pm at Blues Rock Garaasj in Geleen. Just made it in time. When I got into the small bar and was about to pay my ticket the band entered the stage and kicked off. Soundman loved it loud. Some Dutch guys asked him to lower the volume a bit, but it was still very loud.
First show in the Netherlands had not that many listeners but the people who came really liked what they heard. Great show of these youngsters and worth the 90 minutes drive. The band played a lot from their recent album "The Radium" and the atmosphere was very good.

Next to me a blues brother and a Ryan McGarvey fan from Belgium I hadn't seen since November equipped with a camera:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w41a5aiSp9k
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0oQD3BD1wDo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JA24juUXEfs
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdP1335OFHA
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bP_tlBanoWg
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtPDCn8Av38
After the gig we talked and talked and talked and then when only a few people were at the bar the band started playing another set. lol  And now the volume was good. What an incredible encore: a beautiful version of "Little Wings", on special request an amazing version of "Sweet Home Alabama". Then Virgil asked whether someone would like to jam with him. Very very unfortunately there was no musician in the crowd. Then a last song and it was 1:30 am when the band stopped playing. High time to say good night and drive home.

Martin, it was great meeting you and the guys. All the best for the rest of the tour.
