Re: VATA Tour

See the lads are having a breather before their mid-bill set at Scunthorpe’s Blues festival on the 29th. Anybody in the area (or fancies travelling to Redbourn Sports & Social Club; Scunthorpe DN16 1NU), doesn’t look a bad day out for £19adv. Between 3pm and 11pm you’ve got The Sharpees, Clare Free, VATA, Mitch Laddie, Gwyn Ashton and headliner Larry Miller.

VATA lads take another breather before a couple of gigs with Blackfoot, and if they’re in the form they were earlier this year, should be a couple of shows well worth catching.

Seen on the grapevine that next spring, VATA have a very worthy UK tour support slot lined up…...

Ents have the tickets on early release today for members, otherwise general release is Friday. Look around £17 - £20.
See you at The ARC guys.

Re: VATA Tour

I saw VATA supporting Southside Johnny at Leamington Spa last Wednesday. Great performance from such a young band, pity they only got about 25 minutes. Met them at the end of the gig and they're a great bunch of lads, very down to earth. Looking forward to seeing them at Kinross in November for a full length performance.

Re: VATA Tour

Had news of an extra Accelerators' show on Saturday 19th Nov

Mainsforth Community Centre, Ferryhill, Co. Durham.

Anyone not sure where that is, 5 minutes off the A1  Good sized hall, friendly crowd, love good music.

Really enjoying The Radium cd and videos from the live gigs are awesome! They'll have to do for now. Hoping they will get enough attention on this side of the pond to warrant a trip over! I'm certainly happy to do my part to help spread the word smile

Wish I could invite you over for one of the shows - you've really got to experience these guys "live".

Re: VATA Tour

Thanks to all for you kind comments and support. There is anime full page article in the latest Guitarist Magazine, kind of a bench mark for Virgil. Just. Had much fun embarrassing him in W H Smith getting a copy.
For our USA, we already have offers for tours but we still have a lot of work to do over here, once we have a solid base in Europe, the USA will be next. We may be vacationing in the USA next year and if Visas permit, a jam or gig or two would be in order.
Lastley not to underestimate the influence Joe has had on Virge, Joe was the one who opened whole new world up to Virge when he was into his SRV stage. I personally find the whole Joe B 'thing' inspirational. it just shows what can be done.

Finally got to my pictures.  These guys are a joy to photograph, and thank goodness Martin got the lighting at the venue "fixed-up" a bit.  Best watched in "slide-show."

Enjoy - I know I sure did.

Re: VATA Tour

Here is a new interview with Virgil, which happens to include a few Joe mentions as well.

Thanks to Martin for setting it up.

Re: VATA Tour

I received an e-mail from We Got Tickets today saying the Kinross gig on 11th Nov has been cancelled  sad

That's a big disappointment, I've only seen them live for about 25 minutes supporting Southside Johnny a couple of weeks ago and was really looking forward to a full length VATA gig.

Hopefully they'll be back in Scotland before too long.

Re: VATA Tour

Thats a shame Murray cos I know you were really looking forward to it. There has been a fair few gigs cancelled at that venue over the years - usually due to poor ticket sales (it only holds about 30 and is a very intimate gig).

There were still 12 tickets left after I'd ordered so it probably was down to poor ticket sales. I didn't realise the venue was that small.

Re: VATA Tour

The venue holds much more than 12 arod 100 I believe. We had t cancelit through reasons beyond our control, it will be rescheduled at some point.

It's the Inn at Lathones that holds about 30. I've now noticed that the gig was at the Green Hotel, hence the bigger venue. I will definitely look out for the rescheduled date as I couldn't make next Friday.

Here you go then Sandy - the best of a not so good bunch. http://www.flickr.com/photos/42034502@N … 4873/show/

It's a great venue to shoot at, but the lights always cause a few problems. Still way too much red and yellow in the lights there, despite a certain person's best efforts  wink  You'll see why I often take them back to monochrome  smile

Not the best set, but a good momento of a fantastic night.  cool
