Molly Hatchet was another group where I heard a cover of a song before the original one: Dreams I'll Never See. That is one of my all time favorites. I like the Allman's version but I like Molly's better. I always wondered if I would've liked the originals better if I had heard them first. Just like Joe's covers of songs. I heard the originals later but I like his versions better.

joe has an uncanny way of making his cover versions his own. many times as good if not better than the originals, probably most of the time better. The first time I heard New day Yesterday live I said woooh,holy s..t.
