Well yes ..... what a day of Tennis! - who would have thought, both The Fed, and Maria S go out at this stage - + 7 other top  players retire due to injury. I don't think they can blame the grass either. On the outer courts, the grass is always a little more moist in the first week. Those players who adapt quicker to the conditions generally progress.
I'm not going to mention our ONE and only hope of success - I just have my fingers crossed for him!

Congrats to Andy for making the semis, impressive and grueling 5 sets. USA lost Stephens and their doubles team, we got nobody left. Oh well, guess I'll pull for Murray and Lisicki.

Yep! it was a close one yesterday; i thought Andy was fortunate to win - i hope he plays better in the next one.

how about Lisicki's comeback yesterday down 3 games in the third set? She made way too many unforced errors in the last set, but her first service was smoking and I felt that was the difference in those last few games.
Wait, I was wrong about USA being out of any of the finals. We still have those dreaded Bryan brothers to play the doubles final tomorrow. Just great, starts at 4:00AM my time, think I'll watch the replay later in the day. The Bryans are on the verge of making history, check this out:

77 years in the making, way to go Andy. I thought the key to the match was Andy winning the 8th game of each set. Set one on serve he comes out and double faults the first two points (loud groans heard) and yet somehow went on to win that game. The 8th games of sets 2 and 3 were similar but no double faults, highly entertaining. Joko had way too many unforced errors, especially early on. Andy would not be denied in that last game of set 3, he literally willed himself to win. Good for England to get that huge monkey off their back.

You mentioned the significance of the 8th game....

I would say their was more of a significance of #7  -- 77years, ect ... - 7th day of 7th Month - their were more examples given, but they escape me right now. No biggie!

man, I didn't get that #77 connection at all yesterday. But here is another one if the announcers were correct, that it was the hottest men's Wimbledon final since 1977. Did you remember seeing that one on the list?

Ah... no i didn't! But i did find something else out yesterday - 1977 was the last time  a BRIT - Virginia Wade won the Wimbledon, Woman's Singles Final -  Is that spooky or what!  seems like the lucky 7 stars were all in alinement on Sunday - it was meant to be!

a lot of big names going down at the Aussie Open. I got to see the 5th set of the Wawrinka-Djoko match, what a stunner! Could be wide open for womens and mens to the finals, no telling but I'll be tuned in.
