Topic: Yes tribute band

Hi all,
I've seen a few Yes fans pop up here through the years, so I thought I'd throw this out there. Going For The One, a great Yes tribute band, is coming to the Pittsburgh area on Friday, September 9th. They will be playing at Cefalos', in Carnegie. They are great musicians, and they jam! In fact, for this tour they are playing the 3 album release 'Yessongs' in its' entirety. Hope to see you there.

Re: Yes tribute band

Thanks for the heads up Bill.  Always looking for something to do in my back yard. Cefalos is less than 5 minutes from me.  And a very nice place if you've never been there. Seen Jill West there a few times. I sure hope the Carnegie Blues fest isn't that weekend. Ever take in the Carnegie fest?

Take care everyone. And if I don't meet you no more in this world
Then ill, I'll meet you in the next one and don't be late, don't be late

Hey Jeff,
I've never been to the Carnegie Blues Fest. It would depend mostly on my work schedule, but I'm always up for an excuse to hear some blues. Any idea who's playing there this year? We've never been to Cefalos' either , but it does look like a nice place looking at the web site. Seen Jill West a bunch of times over the years...in fact just this Saturday opening for KWS at the rib/blues concert at Station Square. She's had a few band member changes over the years, but I really like this guitarist in the band now, Greg Krupa, I believe is his name.

Re: Yes tribute band

I was just reading today an interview with Jon Anderson in Classic Rock Mag, " Yes, I think about singing with YES again. Every time I wake up."

Yes Gregg Krupa does a fine job filling the shoes of Donny Hollowood who left Jills band a few years back.  I tried like hell to get to the KWS show this past weekend but had to make a stop at Presby hospital to visit my mother, then on the way back the traffic was insane, some chick named Taylor Swift was in town and had the bridge all tied up. Spent an hour on the Fort Pitt bridge, put the windows down and listened to Jills set. I got so pissed off I went home.    Here's the link to the Carnegie festival.

Re: Yes tribute band

Wow, sitting in bumper to bumper traffic for an hour, while trying to get to a show. I think I might have lost it! Thanks for the Carnegie blues link. Looks like I'm 3-11 during that stretch, and am already taking off the 9th for GFTO. I could switch with somebody. We'll see how it goes when it gets closer. Hope your mom's ok.
