Topic: David Gogo

I swear, I'm absolutely certain that there used to be a Gogo topic, but a search by several different means only turned up one mention of his name in a Frank Marino topic from five years ago. I'm stunned.

I know that there are already a number of fans here, but for those of you who do not yet know of this kick-a** guitarist and particularly nice person from Vancouver Island, there is no better way than to start with his twelfth and newest offering, just released 10 days ago - Soul Bender.

Please take it from me that this cd is more than worth your time and interest! It seriously rocks and is, in my very humble opinion, the best thing David has done for years. If anyone is interested, Cathy, Eva, Stu or I will be more than happy to point you at the true gems in his back catalog. wink

(edited with apologies to include Stu) wink

I agree, I'm sure there have been David Gogo discussions here. Maybe they were on the old forum? Didn't find much when I searched either (other than the post you found, and the one linked above). There was a live clip floating around several years ago where David was playing slide with a beer bottle that was outstanding, but haven't been able to find it recently.

<G> introduced me to David Gogo many years ago, starting with Halfway to Memphis. David doesn't get here very often, but I did catch him live once. I've got an autographed copy of Skeleton Key from that show. Dine Under The Stars is another good one. I need to add to my collection for sure. Thanks for the info!

I edited my original post. Halfway to Memphis is probably my favorite, though the more I hear the new one, the more I like it.

Not necessary, my friend smile besides my catalog is rather limited...

I love how David introduces "Sad & Beautiful" on Dine Under The Stars where he explains, "We thought we'd put a new slant on the traditional blues theme...basically, this guy's in love with this chick and she leaves him...and he's really bummed out about it." Too funny.
