Happy Anniversary Joe and to all you Bonabuds who had the priviledge to witness that awsome event.

That show on Palladia last year turned me onto Joe and his music and ignited an excitment in my soul that had not been there for years.  I went right out the next day to buy the DVD as I wanted to see more.

Cheers to you as you continue down the road of success.  Couldn't be happening to a better person.
I am just happy to watch and be a small part of the journey.

Re: May 4, 2009/ May 4, 2011

I resisted the temptation to be the first to bring The Anniversary up, as it was, watching and waiting, Joe himself opened the subject up!  What a pleasure and joy to read all these posts which are truly giving you, Joe, a pat on the back.  A job well done!  Memorable! To be there and seeing and feeling all the coalescing work efforts pressing ahead, and the convergence of the universally rocking planetary stars, "magic" was indeed in the the rarefied air.  I would like to hear more from old and new fans, there or not, DVD "hooked" (lordy how many have been???!!!) or otherwise.  I had so much FUN for one evening into another early morning.  I had to be there.  For the Concert Event (Acheivement actually) of his lifetime and mine.  Going waaaaayyy back on the forum postings I have made, I add what I did then..."So Far".  So far, so, so, so very, very good.  Not just impressive he is, he is Entertaining. JOE! A fantastic after party arranged by my dear friend with the "knowing" (heh heh) the Man & family would definitely join in, joining in mutual thanks and admirations!  More to be added here by me, but later, tomorrow.

ps-how can that be topped?  Remember my adage...."sew far"!

Re: May 4, 2009/ May 4, 2011

I remember the night Joe posted this was going to happen. The post didn't last long, but the wheels were turning. No going back from there.
Because my 60th B-Day was w/in weeks of the show, I decided it was time to see London. Add to that the chance to meet so many Bonabuddies...well who could resist? We went to the "warm up" at Ospel and knew the RAH was going to be epic! HUGE entourage and a very nervous JB.
The night before the big show our friends in London had arranged a meet and greet followed by an Aynsley Lister show. The day of the concert we had another meet and greet allowing for more face to face first time meetings! We were all SO excited that "our" Joe had made the Big Time!!
So by the time we got to the RAH we were all wired. George and I chose to sit in the Street Team box in order to soak up the splendor of the hall. Splendor indeed. Even better, being able to watch my friends below. Front and center!! Bouncing heads, standing O's, tasteful cheers, inflated guitars...all of it, being in the moment.
Like the others I got teary during the opening notes and felt that maternal pride! So happy for Joe!! It flew by. I didn't want it to be over!! Again, please! A perfect 10!! Maybe even an 11!
The after party was the perfect ending. Again, so nice to get face time with so many forum friends from all over the World! So kind of Joe and his family to come. The poor boy was spent...but happy. Again, a HUGE thanks to our English friends for arranging all of this. We owe you big time. When he play Carnegie Hall it will be our turn  wink
So, thanks to you, Joe. Thanks to the Universe for giving us the chance to share this special event and making sure your fans had a chance to be front and center! I LOVE naming familiar faces when I watch the DVD. Are there any out-takes? I'd love to see more audience shots.
This experience was one of the best in my very long life. I've been SO overloaded with work it's nice to take a few minutes to relive the night. Nothing but good in JoeWorld!!   Cathy

Re: May 4, 2009/ May 4, 2011

It sure was, as everyone has already said, a fantastic experience.
So many memories that will be forever carved in our minds.

Fantastic meeting all the names from the forum who had communicated over the internet.
Amazing to see Joe at the after show "do"

Thanks again for all those that made the whole weekend happen.

Untill next time....
May the fourth be with you.

Re: May 4, 2009/ May 4, 2011

What a fantastic experience it was for all of us who were there - First time in Europe for many of the fans who travelled so far from across the pond to see our Joe, the work that Phil and Michael put into making everyone so welcome, the trip to Paris, the hastily reorganised predate gig by Aynsley Lister organised by Duncan, where so many of us got together, the pre show get together in the park cafe, the name tags, the front row seats for the best fans in the world, the after show party at Cocoon, but more than anything else, the blistering performance from Joe and the band and the homage he payed to his fans by turning up with his family and management, tired but extremely happy at our after show party. That day will be etched on our memories for a lifetime. Thank you Joe!

The RAH DVD has become my favourite music video. It is one amazing concert showing an artist at his peak. Little did we know that even better was to come!

I believe it even pushed EC to play a bit better that night, a recognition of the talent in the man playing next to him.

Now really looking forward to seeing Joe play in Perth later this month. Tis a long way from the Albert Hall though.

I really wish that Palladia would have made a mention on their one hour excerpt of the RAH performance that Joe & Co. played 21 songs - and that Palladia's version only aired 8 of them. That may have helped boost the DVD sales even higher.
But I'm glad that they aired what they did - it really helped to get Joe's name out there to the un-Bonabaptised masses.

OK. This is special.   big_smile
I decided early on May 5th, 2009 I would wait until the second anniversary, and...
Here it is, "Rocket's Cocoon Run"!  Do you see yourself?  I tried, but some of you I surely missed.  Joe, your peeps were having a clucking good time high on your Magic!!!  By the way, I was under the influence of nothing but that Magic during this party!  cool

Brilliant Rocket! Only you could think of and pull off something like that! Most of us were under the influence of more than just that Magic so it's probably a good thing the lighting was a little subdued.  lol
