No you are not wrong. It's been a long while. I am back now, but quietly, until I get back on my feet (literally)...It's been a terrible 4-5 weeks and suffice to say that it was once again a disagreement with Docs about my care & feeding. The beautiful thing is that Friday, she came in and challenged me about some stuff; as if there was a fight brewing.
When I answered very calmly that I was not going to be responsible for the results of any "experimentation", that I am a simple man, she got real quiet and in 30 seconds we had come to terms. And the difference in how I feel is remarkable. Fancy that!
So I'm back to work, back to yoga, back to meditation.
No The music scene continues to be the second largest (now the first) source of frustration, in my life. Even losing this mansion pales in comparison. The Divine One came to see me (us) at the last gig and she was aghast. She said to me later, "They do NOT deserve you..." I was moved to my soul because she has remained unimpressed for many years that her old man is a kickass musician. (prawly good for me )
The leader of that band continues to believe that the opposite is true. They play wrong chords and it's my fault. But bollocks the lot cause I am walking without a cane again.
Tis good methinks.

Welcome back, brother Dr. Jones. The world has missed you.
Happy to hear about the resolution of at least some of your issues.
Gosh I'm sleepy. I owe so many, so much. I'm about to babble about gratitude, but I'll catch myself and make it coherent manana.

Here's to your physical and er musical recovery!!!!!!!
Hang tough Jeff. As I get on and watch compatriots drop by the wayside, every day is a good one. Just some are more gooder than others. Nice to see you back.

Thanks man. The Divine One said to me just 1 hour ago how tired of all this depressing *(&^(^$%$%@##!@# she was. I said Oh my goodness gracious! Merciful Heavens!
That's role reversal. I can really cuss.
MuchLove & potty mouth.

Here's the deal, Brother Front Man...
Everybody's a frigging expert; Long on opinion, short on experience. You cannot run a band through a 200 W PA head or a 1000W mixer for that matter. It will sound like crap. Period. and It's unnecessary, and it's stupid. grrr
Even so called sound men think that if it's on stage it should be miced. I get in fights all the time about it. Set up the back line and the masturbatory maggot is placing mics...on drums, in front of my 1000 W bass amp or in my direct out.
Me: Who are you and what do you think you're doing?
Jerkoff: I'm the sound man and I've gotta...
Me: Get off my stage.
JO: I've gott...
Me: Take your mics with you.Repeat 3-4 times...then finally...
JO: So only vocal mics? You don't know what you're doing.
Me: So just go burn one and have a drink. Bugger off until sound check. After sound check:
Promoter/ClubOwner: Wow JerkOff, that mix is perfect.
JO: abbaababab abba $#$^#^%*&) hammena hammena
Me: Yes that's good.
JO: No wonder you don't have any friends...Now if we move into a 2000 seat house, different rules. In the meantime....
Even at a small outdoor gig, the bleed through the vocal mics will run you off your monitors. And I'm certain you can count it down on that triangle
Sometimes I'm guilty of just scanning posts and not really reading. I knew the FDOL was a fellow bass player, but I never much paid much attention. This post not only made me laugh out loud (literally) but it also just hit me that the Funky Doctor knows of what he speaks.
Reminds me of the story I've read about Bonzo. During one of Zep's recording sessions (I don't know which one), some producer or engineer was setting up mics all around his drums and John says, "What the hell are you doing?" The engineer explains that with the mics, they could selectively bring up the level of the individual drums when needed. Bonzo says "No, No, No....if I want one of the drums louder, I'll PLAY it louder." These may not be exact quotes, but from what I understand the conversastion was substantially similar.
When I was 20-something we had a gig where we went all out with a sound guy. In this smallish tavern we had stacks on each side of the stage that would have made Blue Cheer jealous. It cost us more to hire this guy and his gear than we got paid, but we all thought we were pretty cool at the time. We were brought back the next weekend, and that was the LAST weekend they were allowed to have live music. Too many noise complaints, some of which came from residents quite a distance from the venue.
Dynamics? What dynamics? LOLOL. The mudbath I painted with an 18" folded horn was too much without the sound reinforcement, let alone with it. Sounded just fine on stage but the guys in the back of the room said their cheeks were vibrating. Europhic recall. Wow, thanks for the trip down memory lane FDOL. Too funny.

I believe "AVENGERS" is the best movie I have seen in a long time. I took the Divine Ms.Tia to a high dollar lunch yesterday and then we went to see that dam thing in 3D. I'm ready to see it again.
Not only was it put together by a guy who obviously grew up with and/or is in love with, the whole Marvel world deal, it is electric with the character interplay. I laughed so hard. I held my breath. I yelled in the theater. (I was not alone there.) I waited for the Hulk to finally show; brilliantly played by Mark Ruffalo. I was not disappointed.
Worth the drive, the time, the geldt...

Cool! I guess I know where I'm taking the wife. Love Marvel and all that stuff.
Good Morning
I just found out by email broadcast this AM...well I'll quote it:
...and a lot of great music. We will be introducing our new bass player Darren (Rastah) Kannan. We have been practicing real hard to get it together for this show. We have a bunch of new tunes...and have put a cool twist on some others. Come check it out...you definitely won't be disappointed.
Wait, my name is...OH I was the one who suggested new & different tunes and different arrangements... Classy guy, huh?
The Divine Yogini Ms. Tia herself, after reading the entire epistle opined: "Well good for them. They don't deserve you. What they do, playing covers poorly, in front of drunks, inside a bar that should be condemned, is not art. They think they're good." It's the area.
SO THERE! nonny nonny shoo shoo
I'm still looking...again.

Yeah, in more ways than one!
He, the band leader/singer texted me Monday... kinda blew you off. sorry. let me know when you have time to talk
I replied that Yeah you did...but I would love to talk with you. Not into burning bridges So we conversed. He explained that they had not been gigging anyway & this kid showed up and not that anybody said anything bad about you, but they were enthusiastic about this other guy being a better fit.
That's cool. So I said out of curiosity, I asked him if I put something together, would he sing for me,(?) HELL YEAH, he said, that blues thing you do? Anytime brother.
Okay, we'll see. I have other concerns right now...my daughter is in intensive care.
