Congrats to Jake, and to David Ross..... it takes two to complete the no-no. David was very humble in saying that he didn't really do anything special, but that Jake was just filthy. David was a great teammate in Atlanta, hated to see him go. What was so bad is that ESPN could not manage to show one single highlight of the Cubs offense, just pitiful.

Cubs sweep Bucs, then sweep Nats in 4 game series.
24-6, best 30 game start since the 84 Tigers went 26-4.

See the big news last night was Max Scherzer joining Roger Clemens, Randy Johnson & Kerry Wood in recording 20 Ks in 9 innings. Should I be investing in some Nationals apparel? And what's happening in the AL West; Seattle on top? Surely the table's upside down..... Anyone taking wagers on Mariners breaking their Fall Classic cherry? (Between 35/1 & 40/1 currently.)

Any time my Padres do anything other than lose it is a banner day. We are in a building mode. Not rebuilding since that infers there was something worth saving.

and in a move that surprises no one, the hapless Braves fire Fredi Gonzalez. For him, it is a blessing in disguise with so much of the year left. It's easy to figure that they want somebody else going into the new stadium next year, but regardless of who they hire it looks to be the same old sorry team. The new stadium won't fix that.

I read a quote from him. He said he got an email with flight info... to a city where the team wasn't playing. "This can't be good."
Bit ugly last night at Baltimore after Royals' Yordano Ventura hit Orioles' Manny Machado in the back with a 99mph fast ball inside that may have got away. It certainly cleared the benches; both have reputations as "hot heads".
Meanwhile... the Twins won a game.......

That pitch didn't get away, it hit its intended target. Those 2 had words earlier in the game about inside pitches. Just hot blooded Latin tempers flaring.

Have to agree with you there; looking at the earlier innings Ventura was so much trying to pitch inside Machado as round the back of him. See Royals lost again last night, continuing their slump.
Cueto will win his first Cy Young this year!
