Topic: Members in Joes band ?

Can someone list the names and their instruments of the band members for me ?

At Royal Albert Hall he had the same bass player and keyboard player as the same as some of the players that I have seen in the photo's. I'm pretty sure at RAH the horn players are not with him in all concerts and he had two drummers but in other concerts he has the blond hair guy playing drums.

In the Rockpalast DVD he had a drummer and a different bass player. I guess my question is does he have permanent band members yet ?

Thanks, TC

Re: Members in Joes band ?

drummers were Bogie Bowls and Anton Figg, - Bogie played with the band until recently, - Anton has done some of the album work. - Anton has a really interesting musical history, - do a search for him and you will see what I mean.

My YouTube channel with plenty of my Joe's videos dating from 2009 inc his first Hammersmith Odeon ones:

Re: Members in Joes band ?

I remember when the 'Tal' names got confused and who was coming into the band...but damn, I'd love to see her play bass with Joe...that would be a whole new element - in the way that Czar to Carmine was not better or worse, just very different.

Re: Members in Joes band ?

Carmine Rojas, bass, 2005-present
Rick Melick, keyboards, 2005-present
Tal Bergman, drums, 2011-present

Bogie Bowles, drums, 2005-2010
Anton Figg, drums, RAH + Sloe Gin, BoJH & Dust Bowl sessions

So yes, Joe had a permanent band from 2005-2010, with Anton sitting in occaisionally, until Bogie left last year, when Tal stepped in  big_smile

Guitars: Gibson JBLP Studio, Gibson LP '58 Reissue VOS Washed Cherry, Gibson LP Standard Ltd Edition Manhattan Midnght Blue, Gibson LP Custom Black Beauty 3PU with Bigsby, Gibson SG Standard, Fender Telecaster Jimmy Page Custom.

Re: Members in Joes band ?

Joe does have permanent band members, but they have changed over the years. I guess that might not make sense, but it's not like he changes it every tour. Current touring band:

Carmine Rojas - Bass (since May 2007)
Rick Melick - Keys (since May 2007)
Tal Bergman - Drums (started this tour)

Previously:

Bogie Bowles - Drums (Nov. 2005 - Dec. 2010)
Mark Epstein - Bass (Nov. 2005 - May 2007)
Kenny Kramme - Drums  (2001 - Oct. 2005)
Eric Czar - Bass (2001 - Oct. 2005)
Tony Cintron - Drums (until 2001)
Creamo Liss - Bass (until 2001) I don't know the exact dates that Tony and Creamo started or ended with Joe or if there was someone before them.

Haha! So I was not the only one who thought Joe has signed up Tal Wilkenfeld to play bass!  big_smile

In any case - I think Carmine is the coolest.  He's worked with some amazing performers in his time!  cool

Re: Members in Joes band ?

Carmine is awesome. He fits the band perfectly. His spiritual presence reminds me of Santana. His tasty chops do as well.  Still trying to adjust to Bogie's departure. Tal seems cool though.

Sorry to be so CLUELESS, but this is what forums are for! I really like this forum..... everyone is nice and don't mind giving the studied information like some forums. That's why I have to feel like I have to really explain my question.

Anyway, is the Tal bass player the girl that played with Jeff Beck  in his (something Scott) concert ? I really like the current bass player, the guy with him at Royal Albert Hall.

Hey, you have to surround yourself with quality players but people come to see Joe B. I'm sure you guy's feel the same way as me as far as these Top 100 Guitar Players lists which are a joke. Even Rolling Stones Mag. The last time I looked at some of those lists they didn't even have Joe listed in the top 100. That is just crazy.... of course they didn't have Lindsay Buckingham, Chet Atkins, Joe Walsh (in some) and a lot of others that I can't remember off the top of my head. Ya'll may think that I'm crazy but I think Joe B is in the top 10 to 15.

Sorry for the rambling, but I just like to chat about Joe and others too,

Later, TC

Yes, Tal Wilkenfeld played with Jeff for a while. I'm not certain, but maybe a couple years at the most. She was with him at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Fest in Chicago 2007 (where I first saw her) and later that year at Ronnie Scott's in London.

Any other questions, feel free to ask!

Well, the lists you refer to are used by the mags
a) to fill space
b) generate comment, discussion - which in turns fills more space

The only 'lists' I can be bothered to read or take notice of is when a hundred players are asked who 'their' favourites are. Normally from there you can start to build a list or get an idea of your own. I mean, when someone like Joe B tells recommends, or points to someone whose playing impresses or influences him, you can take that on board.

But when Rolling Stone's journo's compile a list........nah, forget it.

I agree with you totally. I heard Derek Trucks name a lot of players that should be way up above him on the lists.
