Re: Saint Jude

Last night was my second time of seeing StJude but the first time with Marcus Bonfanti in the band.  Had such a rocking time, it was brilliant.

Been listening to this very CD from the mag. Great addition - Thanks CRock!

Excellent stuff. I've only seen them as a duo opening for Joe in the summer of 2010. She has a great voice but I thought at times she overdid it - but if you can -so what?

Anyway, they have a striking similarity musically and in her voice to 'The Mother Station'. If you have never heard of them track down their album 'Brand New Bag' vintage 1992 and you will see what I mean. I don't mean to imply in any way that Saint Jude are some kind of copyists - far from it. The music sounds fresh and for today. Just like Mother Station did in '92 but way back then nobody was listening. They didn't stay the course but hopefully Saint Jude will.

But if anybody would like to hear something like them from way back when I would be happy to forward a copy. In the meantime I look forward to catching 'The Jude' in Deutschland next time around.

Re: Saint Jude

For anyone going to their upcoming UK shows, a word of warning about the support band Fighting Wolves (according to Planet Rock and other adverts). I saw them supporting Tyketto last week and they were so bad, most people couldn't wait until they finished their 30 minute set. It was sheer torture - the singer doesn't sing, he screams and shouts.

That's the only decent song they did and it was the last one.

I had a quick listen to them about a week ago when I saw they were the SJ support.
I wasn't very impressed by what I heard and was thinking it was a strange choice to support SJ. Totally different kind of music and I can't see too many SJ fans liking them.

Totally agree Murray. As much of a mismatch as they were with Tyketto.

Saint Jude was my last gig of the year too.
They were great in Glasgow, they played a few new songs which sounded very good so I'm looking forward to the next album.
Lynne was on top form and Marcus Bonfanti on guitar was really into it and put on a great show. I'm going to have to check out his solo stuff soon.

You're in for a great show!
