this post is for new guitar gods. maybe we should start a favorites of all time post.

I can't find any music anywhere on Freeway. Do they have a website? I've heard good things about Jan.
There are several bands worldwide with the same name.
These cats are from Australia. KILLER !
i dont get why morello is called a guitar god. half of his licks sound the exact same. to put him on the same list as bonamassa is dispicable in my opinion.

Joe didn't think so.

My hats off to you for mentioning Dan Tyminski. I just saw him with Allison Krause & the rest of Union Station back in Nov. which just brought Jerry Douglas to mind. Being a gifted slide player yourself you must appreciate Jerry's dobro work. If anybody is not familiar with Dan Tyminski he was the vocal-over when George Clooney sang in Oh Brother!Where Art Thou?

Gary
Ron Thompson & The Resistors are out of CA. Magic Touch cd is a good place to start
Since we are off the beaten path, bluegrass was mentioned, as was Robert Randolph, I could care less about Rolling Stone, they are so irrelevent for so long now...Who the hell cares if they don't listen to Tony Rice, Jerry Douglas, Bela Fleck, David Lindley, Ry Cooder, or George Benson (not what I consider my guitar Yaweh list btw-just find 'em all highly listenable, not totally obscure, and not obscurely skilled either)?!Or Joe Bonamassa for that matter! Bah! Not young guns (excepting Joe) but not the types they care about, but I sure do...BAH!
1. Joe Bonamassa
2. John Mayer
3. Kenny Wayne Shepherd
4. Tom Morello
5. Zakk Wylde
6. Slash (maybe earlier than the 15 year mark)

7. Dave Grohl
8. Pete Yorn
9. David Gray
10. Ryan Adams
in no particular order....
Danny Gatton
Roy Buchanan
Joe Bonamassa

geetaar greets
PIT...
Well now, this is a challenge. I'm going to have to go with:
1. Joe Bonamassa (not sucking up, he's just that good!)
2. James Hetfield/Kirk Hammett (MetallicA!)
3. Warren Haynes
4. Zakk Wylde
5. Matt Heafy/Corey Beaulieu (Trivium)
6. Mike Martin/Oli Herbert (All That Remains)
7. Mike Schleibaum/Kris Norris (Darkest Hour)
8. Dave Mustaine (Megadeth)
9. Synyster Gates/Zacky Vengeance (Avenged Sevenfold)
10. Henry Garza (just love what the Los Lonely Boys are doing)
...heros from the past would have definitely included Stevie Ray Vaughan, Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath), and Jimmy Page. And I might get lynched for saying this, but I have never gotten into the Jimi Hendrix craze, I personally think if they had been put together, SRV would have played cicrles around him. I also have found Slash and Tom Morello to be a little overrated.
Rock 'N' Roll,
-Ben
