Re: Joe Bonamassa Epiphone Les Paul Registry

Owner: Tim Shelor
Location: Prince George, Virginia
Serial Number: 10101507843
Ordered: Dec. 25 from Guitar Center
Received: Jan. 13
Manufacturing Date: Unknown
Quality Issues: Pristine condition

Have a '76 Gibson Les Paul and '74 SG and this is by far the best sounding of the bunch. Have been playing and comparing all 3 and while all sound great I never would have thought the Epiphone could match the Gibson's. WRONG. I would like to thank Joe for making this possible to own.

Also got on the Marshall bandwagon and bought a Marshall Haze 40 and am totally satisfied with the amp. Had a Fender Vibro Champ and a Blues Jr. and could never quite get the right tone.

It is here...OMG...it is here! Ha, serial #10101509071 in beautiful condition. Sounds fantastic...plays fantastic...looks fantastic.  The Guy from EBay was a Savior...AMS cancelled my order last minute. Proud owner in Montevideo, MN.

Re: Joe Bonamassa Epiphone Les Paul Registry

Should have put this up a long time ago, I guess, but I never really noticed this thread before...    wink

Owner: Terrance Shuman (Coach305)
Location: Atlantic, Iowa
Serial Number:  10101508597
Ordered: December 23, 2010 from Musician's Friend
Received: January 4, 2011
Manufacturing Date: Unknown (no date on the warranty card)
Quality Issues: None.  In fact, when I took it in to a nearby Gibson/Epiphone dealer for a set-up (SOP on new guitars for me), the tech there said he couldn't find anything he'd recommend doing to it.  It was that good right from the factory...

Re: Joe Bonamassa Epiphone Les Paul Registry

My Epi JBLP has found its way home, many thanks to our member Jerrdogg for hooking me up with it.

Owner: Michael (rythmplaya)
1st home: Tenn.,USA
Forever Home: Campbell RIver, BC, CANADA
Serial Number:  10101507828
Manufacturing Date: Unknown (no warranty card)
Quality Issues: Minor.  The fit and finish on this guitar is excellent. I love the feel of the neck and I'm digging the pickups. It just needs a setup and some work on the nut. The nut is big and blocky with sharp corners and too much material around the strings. The bridge is cranked up way too high on the low E side.

Inspected and setup by #22...I think #22 needs some remedial classes in guitar tech school lol

All in all...it's a keeper.

Guitars: 2002 Gibson R8, 2008 Gibson SG Standard, 1977 Fender Statocaster, 1979 el Degas Les Paul Custom, 2011 Epiphone JB Les Paul
Amps: 1982 Marshall 4010

Hi Roger,

I think the fact that there are only 2 listed on the registry that have found their way to the UK indicates there are very few on this side of the pond. I ordered mine in mid September from GAK in Brighton and they told me at that time they had twelve on order and I was the first person to put my name down and pay a deposit. When I received the call to say that it was in and ready for despatch they'd received only two guitars and didn't know when they'd be getting any more. Mine had arrived in the UK via Amsterdam so had probably clocked up quite a few thousand miles before it got to me. Despite that and the fact it was only in one box during delivery, it arrived in excellent condition. You can see pics of it on the other Epiphone thread. It really is a beauty.  cool

I hope yours arrives soon.

Re: Joe Bonamassa Epiphone Les Paul Registry

I ordered mine months ago from Guitar Guitar.  At the time somebody told me they expected delivery for 4 March, but they never arrived and I was then told that they didn't have a delivery date but expected it to be at least another month or so before they got any of their UK allocation.

I gave up and got a 2011 PRS SE Tremonti singlecut instead...arrived next day and I am very happy with it smile  I would have liked the JB Epi just for the fact it was limited to 1000 units, but I wasn't going to wait forever.....:(

Re: Joe Bonamassa Epiphone Les Paul Registry

I just recieved mine here in Sweden...... and i must say that the look of it is stunning!
But like a lot of other owners of this beaty mine didn`t come with no warranty card or such thing either....just the certificate!
But I need to take mine to a guitartech for some proper setup, since I have never heard such a fretbuzz from another guitar before!!!
Apart from that I am very pleased with it and I guess we will be partners for a long time to come.

Re: Joe Bonamassa Epiphone Les Paul Registry

Got me two of these...........10101507417 got a bone nut, a neck roll & nylon saddles for the unwound strings.  10101507936 got a bone nut, a neck roll, Tone-Pro Kluson locking tuners & a Stetsbar trem.

Steve Uncapher at Rock Block in Nashville did the work, and as always, it's perfect!

417 is a gem & 936 isn't far behind.

Major props to Joe for getting these to turn out so nice at a decent price!  A couple hundred extra dollars in pro setup and I've got two guitars that compete favorably with some of the boutique stuff I've got.

I think it would be useful to have a register in a similar style to the Gibson registry and helpful if it was on this first page of the thread. Please add your Epiphone’s details on the thread and I will update the Register below. Please don’t copy the whole register when updating with your details as each post could be longer than one page on the thread! For the same reason I’ll only update with the # posted.

I’m not sure about mentioning twisted headstocks as one person’s twist is another’s perfect. Any comments on layout etc. let me know.

Keep ‘em coming.  smile

Thanks

Epiphones with Broken Headstock

Re: Joe Bonamassa Epiphone Les Paul Registry

Register on page 1 updated and hopefully in the correct numerical order now. Nice to see the gaps filling in and mine sitting pretty between Josh J's in Tampa and Rocket's in San Diego. It's sad that so few have managed to find their way to Europe. My fingers are crossed for those still hanging on - it's worth the wait.  cool
