Just got an E-Mail from Amazon. The album is on offer in the UK at 8,93 or something daft like that. Sounds like good value already.

Amazon in the U.S. will have the album for download tomorrow (September 27) for $9.49 (including the digital booklet):  http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005MW … =163856011

Nice to see that you're enthusiastic Brett, but posting the same news THREE times is really way beyond necessary.....  roll

Quick UK chart update (source)

Don't explain is at Number 12 after one day of sales. It will probably slip down the charts by Sunday, but hopefully it'll stay top 20, that'd be great!  big_smile

Re: Joe and Beth Hart

Woohooo...another killer JB cd! Some stellar guitar moments on there and a rare JB bit of T E L E  T W A N G !! Love Beth....she can blaspheme me anytime!

Re: Joe and Beth Hart

This album is just incredible .... It oozes class in vocals and musicianship along with the beautiful arrangement of the songs and a raw vibe production, it's like a throwback to those soul and easy listening tunes of the 50's & 60's given a supreme 2011 gloss over.
I thought Dust Bowl was the hands down no contest best album of the year, but Jeez this is wonderful music, it is running it so close, no really i can't give enough praise about this collaboration, it hits this spot in true deep soulful music that has been missing in the music world.
I mean Beth Hart's voice and tone is stellar all through this CD, My word i have not heard vocals like this in a long time with bad intention, god knows what the boys and kevin thought of some of these vocals by Beth in the studio, but she does indeed bring it big time, they must've been whooping and high five'n, WOW!
It has it all tinges of Jazz Soul Blues Rock and is a great release by Joe and surely one he must be extremely happy with,
There are some truly outstanding musical offerings within "Don't Explain" ...
Sinner's Prayer is a swampy bluesy preachin tune with a wicked slide hook entwined around Beth's rasping vocals and a powerful opener, it's dirty low and you are already drawn in by it's devilish sound
Other highlights include "I'll Take Care of You" with Beth & Joe in smooth mood giving us a tale of love which is just sublime and Joe delivers a heartwrenching solo to the end.
There are 2 Etta James gems in these grooves given the Beth and Joe re-work, "Something Gotta Hol On Me" is jumping and bopping all over the place like a soul sensation infectious blast from the past, a great change of pace throughout this album, sultry sassy emotional sad and uplifting it's all here in classy musical form.
"Ain't No Way" is just amazing, the old Aretha Franklin classic given a timeless touching modern sound, músic like this never dies
and to deliver it with as much as Aretha's soul is so rewarding for the listener with some beautiful stringed orchestra arrangement that makes this tune feel so pure to it's original, Beth's voice is so soulful on this legendary song.

But there is one song "I'd Rather Go Blind" , that is truly breathtaking and just cries for that repeat button, such is it greatness it's one of those songs you just listen to in complete silence and captures all your senses, it is so moving with Beth singing with so much feeling you are after hearing it moved with it's brilliance and Joe just pours out one his very finest guitar solo's he's ever put down on record and with a huge sweeping arrangement to carry it along on thank god it's the longest song on "Don't Explain"
One of those songs i will keep with forever and take to the grave it is that beautiful.  in my top 10 Joe songs easy
What A Voice, What Truly Beautiful Songs, What an Album.

Just played it for the first time and the whole album is incredible. I mean just how good is "I'd rather go blind"? I'm away to play the cd again..................

Re: Joe and Beth Hart

I'm writing reviews where I can even though I got the album through Joe's website - Amazon, iTunes etc. Someone on U.S. iTunes said Beth is trying to sound like Janis on every song. ??? Not sure that person actually listened to the album.

So glad to see the positive response to the album. Joe and Beth deserve it for putting out such an amazing record. I agree with Michael that Dust Bowl is an awesome album (one of the best of the year) - and so is this one - just different - but both awesome.  wink

Couldn't agree more Michael, especially about "I'd Rather Go Blind". Still brings me to tears when I listen to it! Outstanding!

Why don't we eliminate all the warning labels and let things sort themselves out?

They are also doing  Joe and Beth street team you guys can go to the site to find out more.

Well Jane, I've never seen you (or that other pratt who posted it below because he thinks it'll wind me up,) or anyone else use that phrase before, hence my question. But hey, if it makes you happy, go for it by all means.  wink

Hang on though, you've got to explain yourself about the rest - who thinks we're unhospitable here and why would such a thought justify Brett posting the same exact thing in three different topics? I fail to see a connection.

I sure hope Joe and Beth do another cd!

JAM ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Joe and Beth Hart

I for one don't read all posts or all threads on the forum, so I personally don't mind the repeat of news.  And I think Brett works for Joe, so he's just spreading the word, IMHO.  wink

I think this CD is ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY FANTASTIC!!  I never heard of Beth before this venture, thanks Joe for this gift, what a powerful voice, just a great album!!  I disagree with the review reported about Beth trying to sound like Janis Joplin on every song, Beth's voice is more refined than Janis's and I think Beth's style is more soulful.

George, I think I'll call Cathy to get to Amsterdam STAT, I think you need a little fix... tongue  Enjoy your time together.  smile

Just finished listening the whole way through. Love it. Totally love it. Her voice just kills me. And, well, what is there to say about Joe  cool

“Music and rhythm find their way into the secret places of the soul” Plato

Just reading an interview of Beth Hart at the German "Bluesnews". And here is what Beth says:
"Sure, we both are very busy, will be on tour during the next months and prepare our next albums, but we intend to share stage in the near future.  And if the album is reasonably believed, chances for it are increasing. Somehow we will find a couple of dates in our schedules - I will definitely build one or another song in my current set." ... "Furthermore, we have already agreed on a second album of this kind."
