Re: Thank You All

This wasn't the first time I met Bogie, but the same place.  One of my all-time fav pics of Bogie.

Re: Thank You All

Bogie, I only discovered Joe about 3 1/2 years ago, so all my live experiences (8, I think) have included you.  You're a fantastic drummer and a great guy and I'm sad to see you go.  But I can certainly understand your decision, and it's good to see you excited about the next stage of your career... hope you'll share more about that with us then.  Also glad to hear the departure is on good terms.  I was going to say I hope you can sit in now and then if the opportunity arises, but I see Joe already has that covered.  Best of luck to you, take care, and happy holidays!  smile

Re: Thank You All

Sorry to see you go Bogie, but I can certainly understand why you came to your decision. Good luck and hopefully we'll see you down the road.

I'm not normally one to spend a lot of time reminiscing, but I found it hard not to look through some photos from past shows. One of my favorites which coincidently is from the same show as Patty's first pic in her post above:

Re: Thank You All

Bogie,

Like everyone else, sorry to see you go.

Had a fantastic close up view of your drumming at Glasgow which was mezmerising and despite the cold you kindly spent a few minutes just chatting afterwards. As always, generous with your time.

Good luck in whatever you do.

Paul

Re: Thank You All

To my favourite drummer and all round nice guy ... sorry to see you go Bogie.  I've so enjoyed watching you play over the years, and it's like you've become one of the family.  Whatever you do I wish you every success.

Re: Thank You All

Bogie, I've only ever known Joe B with youhitting the skins behind him, so in my mind, you will always be intrinsically linked to Joe.  It's going to be a bit like imagining Mick Jagger without Keith Richards, but I wish you all the very best in your future musical and life direction...

Re: Thank You All

My thanks to you Bogie - we'll miss you at Joe's shows but I very much hope to catch you in whatever project you take on next.

It was great walking back with you after the show at the Carre and thanks again for taking the time for pictures after the Folkestone gig.

my very best wishes

Re: Thank You All

Bogie,
We discovered Joe in 2006 in a small bar in Newport RI, so we've only seen Joe play with you. It's going to be very strange seeing someone else playing drums on that stage. Every time we would see you, I would always think that you are an excellent drummer, and someone who was doing the road the right way because you always looked so healthy and happy.
Good luck in whatever you do, you will be missed!

Dear Bogie,
My face dropped when i read your post. My first Joe gig was the RAH - and as a drummer myself, i watched you just as much as Joe .
I've been a fan of yours ever since. As everyone has said, i wish you the very best for the future, you will be missed.  sad

Re: Thank You All

Bogie,
Grateful to have seen you play several times. The pocket that you sit in is a good one. I appreciate your gift and cannot wait to see what happens next for you. The evident qualities of passion, class and talent are always compelling and you are blessed with all three. Hope you have an amazing Christmas and get some much needed rest. All the best!

By the way.....what is next for you?

Peace,

Re: Thank You All

Bogie,

Although I can not say we have had the pleasure of meeting, I do wish you the best of luck in your new adventures.  There are times in our lives when we are at a crossroads and have to make a difficult decision.  The bottom line is, if you are happy with your decision, so are we.  All of us only want the best to a guy who has been part of a family that has grown "this" neighborhood.

May the wind always fill your sails and may the light always shine upon you!!!!

All my best to you!!!

Re: Thank You All

I don't believe I am alone in thinking that Joe sets himself a pretty punishing schedule. Those that walk it with him will know that just as well.

As many have said already you were the guy behind the kit when I first caught Joe live in a trio formation. I thought you were a pretty remakable drummer then and absolutely nothing has changed in the intervening years. Always a delight to observe and I don't think I have ever seen or heard you miss a beat.

But things change and move on, and that is what makes life so interesting sometimes.

Until I saw Bogie Bowles live Kenny Aronoff was always my fave live drummer. Gonna be real interested to see what you do next so please keep us informed.

Compliments of the season and very best wishes in the future.
