Re: Thank You All

Boges, what can I say? You were drumming for Joe at our first Joe gig in Manchester UK and 30+ shows under our belts we have been in awe of your powerhouse drumming and personality that shows through your performances each night. That said, we can't blame you one little bit. The road you, and the guys have been treading this past 5 years must take it's toll, and I'm sure we all understand that. This is your moment, and Sue and I wish you every success in whatever you plan to do, but on a more personal note, big hugs and thanks for being a "friend", albeit briefly each time we meet!

Re: Thank You All

Best of luck Bogie...it won't be the same without you!
I remember the first show I saw you play and I remember feeling very pleased that Joe had found the right man for the job.
Perhaps the biggest compliment I can give is I will continue to follow your career because I know it will be special.
Again, best of luck!

Re: Thank You All

Hi Bogie,
Well, I'm not going to say that I'm totally surprised.  the other day, you posted 'debt free' on facebook and I said to Ken, I wonder if Bogie's thinking about changing direction so he doesn't have to travel so much any more.  Of course, Ken tells me that's a musician's life so I didn't think too much about it.  I just know that my job used to require constant travel and at first, it was fun.  After a few years of that, I decided it wasn't so fun to be away from home all the time. I know some people love it, but it's not for everyone.

Anyway, I'm so glad I was able to meet you and to see you perform about 16 times. You will surely be missed.  Stay in touch and good luck with whatever you decide to do.  Just be happy. smile

Re: Thank You All

I'm sad to hear this news, but a little intrigued to see what happens next.  The current incarnation of Joe's band is simply sensational. I have loved all of the shows I saw with you, Rick, and Carmine.  But I knew it couldn't last forever.  What a great ride it was for all of us.

To be sure, I'll be paying attention to see what you do next.  I'm a Bogie fan for life.  Good luck sir!

Re: Thank You All

Hey Bogie,
Ya' caught me way off guard and I will admit with tears as I write, I just want to thank you for all the wonderful memories and fun you created around you. I salute you, Bogie "Captain" Bowles, our own real-life super hero.  I remember very well the first time I saw you at The Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake,IA and all points between. Rhonda & I still laugh about your comment that we were "safe" to be around.  wink  Remember the Christmas tree in the parking lot and the jello shots named after you guys?   You made it all so much fun and you are the best drummer EVER  in my book.  I will miss you greatly and I, too, will keep track of your career.  I will never forget your compassion, great hug, and words of wisdom when I needed it the most.

You are a great & kind gentle-man Bogie Bowles ♥

Re: Thank You All

Hi Bogie.
It's sad news that you & the band are parting ways. I've only had the pleasure of seeing you twice, but you have made an enduring, permanent impression on me. I, like others, will keep track of your career. I hope you feel like dipping into the forum from time to time. Good luck with whatever you choose to do. You will be sorely missed by everybody.
Have a great Christmas and everything you wish for in the New Year!!
You deserve it!

Re: Thank You All

You will be missed greatly... you are a true talent. You made my son's year when you took the time to talk about your kit after the Nashville show this year (in the freezing cold). Thanks for  signing his sticks. Godspeed to you.

Re: Thank You All

Very sad to see you go. Really awesome drummer and all around good guy. As long as you're following what you want to do, it's all good.  smile

Re: Thank You All

I can only speak for myself when I say I am very sad about Mr. Bowles departure but very happy for him on a personal level.  Bogie and I spent 5 years on the road playing everywhere from chinese restaurants to the Royal Albert Hall.  Bogie is a class act all the way around and was/ is my voice of reason when my Italian thing kicks into high gear.  I am very proud of the musician Bogie has become and honored to have had him in the band for 5 years.   There was one precondition on his departure.  He has to set in with us when we come around to his new neighborhood.  He told  me his new pad has parking for 2 busses and a semi truck .. I intend to take him up on it..
Love Ya Bogie.. and you can see the rest do too..
Congrats on your new venture and move..
Joe B aka Jose..

Re: Thank You All

Dear Bogie,

I'm so glad that we have the RAH DVD which so wonderfully captures your mastery of the drums and the many Youtube videos out there which show how much you've enjoyed doing what you do so well.  Look at how many fans you've gathered along the way, based on your on-stage and your off-stage presence!

Best wishes to you and looking forward to following your career where ever it takes you!

Your fan,
Anne

Re: Thank You All

wow  sad   Not sure where to go with this.

I guess Joe's cryptic tweet about the last show being bitter sweet ain't so cryptic anymore.

Bogie - I thank you for the joy your playing has provided to me and to a host of others.  As many have said, you will be missed...but that just doesn't convey the right words.

I hope you find what you're looking for.

Godspeed Senor Bowles

Re: Thank You All

Bogie,

Wish you the best of luck in your life.....truly a talented individual, and played a pivotal role in helping propel everything to the next level......I am a guitar player, but found myself focusing on your playing alot, and not paying attention to the guitar player....because you are so flawless and musical.....so drummer simply play the beat, not you my good man....you take to another level.....for that fact alone, whatever you do, you will propel that to the next level......

Best of luck and happy holidays....

Re: Thank You All

Oh shizzle!  I was so looking forward seeing Joe and the rest of the band live this coming Feb so  you won't be a part of me losing my Bonavirginity.  I was really impressed with your drumming and High Water Everywhere on the RAH dvd really stood out to me.

Best of luck to you as you move onto new endeavors and start new chapters in the pages of life.
