Topic: Wow, Just WOW!

I attended my first Joe concert last night in Rochester, NY.  Had great seats, third row.

JUST
FREAKING
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two hours of absolutely fantastic music.  Being so close to the stage, the artistry of Joe and the rest of the band becomes very clear.  I was just blown away.

Favorite tune of the night was Woke Up Dreaming.  Joe just absolutely owned that 6 string. Truly amazing!!!

This assessment is coming from someone who has every album and DVD of Joe's.  And listening to them now takes me back to last night.  A whole new perspective!

Joe, please come back to Rochester soon!

Re: Wow, Just WOW!

Forgot to add:  Joe played a song last night that I had not heard before.  Slow Train, I think it was called.  I loved it.

Does anyone know if this is a new song and if so, when is it expected to be released?

Bill, thanks for the welcoming.  And yes, I probably am "one of us".  smile  Even owning every album he's published, I'm still wanting more and more!

I first became aware of Joe in the early 2000s (2001 I think).  I had on the CBS Saturday Morning Show.  And they feature a muscial guest every week in their "Second Cup Cafe".  Joe was their guest that day.  I believe he played So Its Like That.  I loved it.

I went out and bought the only CDs he'd released at that point, New Day Yesterday and So Its Like That.  Included in one CD case was the New Day Yesterday Live DVD.  I didn't have a DVD player at the time, so I forgot about it for a long time.  Some years later, a friend of mine reminded me of that DVD and I fell in love again watching him blow away the room in that DVD.  Just fantastic.  I quickly acquired Rock Palast and anxiously waited for Royal Albert Hall.

Now, I'm anxiously awaiting the next time I can see Joe live!

NOTHING like a live show. Then you know Joe. Love Bonabaptism stories. Thanks!!! I am a huge "Slow Train" fan. GREAT tune! Except I think we should be saying "Choo" in response to the drum. We'll see how it developes. smile Cathy

Hey Rob Joe has played Rochester often, I am not surprised you didn't have to cry yesterday, but surprised you have missed him there before.  Oh well, So It's Like That With me also.  I've not ever seen Joe in Rochester, Buffalo, or NYC but many other places in state.  Close once in 2005, but I was already on a multiple show run and missing Rochester was a breather in between (as it was it was the infamous van-trailer connection breakdown which caused the show to be canceled anyway-NOT! tongue ) long hauling.
Thanks for reminding me of that CBS Saturday Morning Show, although I think it was 2002?  Those were catch as catch can times back then....a nice morning of dazed Joenuts with our coffee as I recall!
You one us now! Wicked Yupper!

That's it Janey! Definitely 2002.  Joe with the Elvis cool, Lennon relaxed look and vibes, Kenny Kramme looking like Dennis Wilson (and playing low-key) and Eric czar with his Doc Holliday phase...Nice version of So, It's Like That.  AHhh, seems like yesterdazed good news, as I once again enjoy it with morning coffee on another murky Satur...oops Sunday!
