On Wednesday 13 April Paul Rodgers took part in the second Yamaha and Planet Rock Off The Record event.

This time taking place at the beautiful Under The Bridge club in Chelsea, Paul played a four song acoustic set, showcasing songs from his time with Free, Bad Company and Queen in a stripped down acoustic format.

He also fielded questions from Nicky Horne and a select group of listeners who had been specially invited based on the strength of their questions.

We have a load of superb photos courtesy of Nick Elliott and we will be broadcasting selected highlights of the Q&A and the songs on MONDAY in Nicky Horne's show after 6pm.

We will also have video of the full show in due course.

Thanks so much for putting this up.  I was able to tune in and listen to part of the Q&A and the acoustic songs.
How special it was to be there.  In such an intimate setting and I loved the questions.  I so want to hear the other half of it.  I can't get enough of Paul Rodgers.   I loved what he had to say about the Temptations and Sam Moore.
Now he's got me searching again.  I had no idea that Sam Moore joined him in Seattle.  To hear that was one of his favorite moments singing and how he described it,  I hope desperately somebody, somewhere, has an audio or video of that.  And it was a personal treat for me to see him perform with the Temptations. Now I know what happened at that moment.

Love hearing the show reviews big_smile

TRC - I have been going to see Paul since 1972 and I saw him in an intimate setting in 1997. He played 6 nights at the famous Ronnie Scott's club in London and I was there for the last 3 shows. It was just electrifying to see him in such a small venue with waitress service to your table, don't think that will happen again. He played a different set each night and threw in some blues standards. Although I managed to chat with the band, Paul didn't come out of his dressing room so had to get his autograph via  a band member. It was at the time of his "Now" album.

Well I have just finished attending 2 of my 4 Paul Rodgers gigs on his current tour, it is an amazing gig. Got loads of cd's signed by the man , had a brief chat as well. The band are terific as well , new bassman Todd is one of the best you will see/hear. Howard Leese on guitar is terrific and Jason Bonham on the skins seems to having the time of his life.
Got Londons Royal Albert Hall and Birmingham left with some special guests planned for the gigs, also a special item for Birmingham which i cannot mention on here

I saw Paul at the Royal Albert hall last night.  What an amazing show!

I’ve been a little disappointed the last few times I’ve seen him solo, where he’s only done an hour or so on stage and looked to be going through the motions, but last night he was back to his very best.   It was one classic song after another from his massive back catalogue and every one was a gem.  Amazingly for somebody now in his early sixties he STILL has the best voice in blues rock.

Special guests were Mica Paris and Mick Ralphs, plus a solo support acoustic session by his daughter Jasmine.

Special mention must also be made of the main support act, the Down’n’Outz.   They were simply fantastic.  I’m a big fan of Mott The Hoople music anyway, so I was converted before they played a note, but Joe Elliott and the boys played those songs like they owned them and really put on a great performance.  It may be my imagination, but it seems to me that Mr Elliott seems to enjoy playing this material much more than his own Def Leppard stuff.
