Re: Paul Rodgers UK Tour 2011

It's my birthday but I'm in Glasgow to see Magnum!!

PLANET ROCK are giving you a ONCE IN A LIFETIME opportunity to see Paul Rodgers at one of the most intimate shows he has performed for many, many years.

In the latest installment of our OFF THE RECORD series, Paul and his band will be playing a very special show for an invited audience and answering your questions in a special Planet Rock hosted Q&A.

The show will take place at a secret venue in London on 13 April and to be amongst the extremely small audience then all you need to do is submit a question, and if your question is selected as one of the best then you will get an invite to this remarkable event.

You have to be a Planet Rock VIP to be invited to this event, and we'll need to be able to get in touch so you need to make sure your details are up-to-date. Before you complete this form please make sure that we have your phone number on record by updating your details

Also, before you take part please make sure that you'll be able to attend this central London event in the early afternoon (approx. 2pm) of 13 April - space is extremely limited and we want to make sure that everyone that gets an invite can actually make the show.

I'm leaning towards the opinion that if Joe was going to appear with Paul Rodgers it might be at the first half of the tour or around the 24th/25th dates in Bournemouth or Southend

Thanks for posting this on here.  That is going to be such an awesome evening. It's even more amazing when you get to see him in a small venue.  I'm in America so I won't be able to attend.  I hope you get to go.  It says it's part of their OFF THE RECORD series.  Do you know if they may broadcast this session on Planet Rock?

I'm really interested in hearing this especially with the Q and A session. Paul Rodgers is just the cat's meow^-^

TRC - Sadly I won't try to win  a ticket as I can't manage that date (but will see him in Glasgow 19 April) - maybe someone else on this board will try??

The show should be broadcast on Planet Rock - will post when I get any confirmation.

Re: Paul Rodgers UK Tour 2011

Oh my Holy Freak Parade,

A match made in Heaven!  I have so wanted to see them together and here it is.  Oh, how I wish he would have her come over to the States for his opening act and then have her sing some songs with him.  This is just to die for.
And on one of my favorite Free songs.  This is such a love song and I love them together.  Normally I wouldn't post this because he is sick, but like one poster said,  Paul Rodgers sick is better than 99% of the singers out there. Because it's not just his voice, it's how he sings.  That is just how great he freakin is.  And its not the same kind of rasp, but it is a bit of a reminder of his Free voice.  I met her when she opened for Jason and she was such a sweetheart.  She was kind enough to give me one of Jason's drumsticks.  I loved her when she opened for Jason and love her more for 4 singing with Paul.  Deborah Bonham please be my friend big_smile

It will definitely not be Sheffield - I could never be that lucky  sad  sad
Those sort of things only happen in London.

Re: Paul Rodgers UK Tour 2011

On Wednesday 13 April Paul Rodgers took part in the second Yamaha and Planet Rock Off The Record event.

This time taking place at the beautiful Under The Bridge club in Chelsea, Paul played a four song acoustic set, showcasing songs from his time with Free, Bad Company and Queen in a stripped down acoustic format.

He also fielded questions from Nicky Horne and a select group of listeners who had been specially invited based on the strength of their questions.

We have a load of superb photos courtesy of Nick Elliott and we will be broadcasting selected highlights of the Q&A and the songs on MONDAY in Nicky Horne's show after 6pm.

We will also have video of the full show in due course.

Re: Paul Rodgers UK Tour 2011

I received that Planet Rock e-mail..... i just hope i remember to tune in!  smile

A blinding concert last night in Glasgow. Jason certainly adds a new dimension to the songs and I think it worked better being back to a 4 piece. All Free & Bad Co songs apart from Little Wing / Angel and a new one called Take Love which he had done before with Queen. A reasonable 95 minutes compared to shorter sets from recent years. The venue has terrific sound which always helps.

Before the band hit the stage we heard Gary Moore's version of Wishing Well plus Still got the blues for you. A fitting tribute.

I'll second that. The power of Paul's voice is undiminished. Sounds just as good as ever.

Kenny, as a matter of interest, just where in Row E of the Front Circle were you sitting?
