Topic: Can has intro? (Newbie from B'ham, AL)

Heya Guys,
I've been lurking around the site for a while now and I've decided it's about time I signed up!  I discovered Joe almost a year ago.  Adverts for his upcoming show here in Birmingham were playing on the radio, I'd never heard of him before, so when I got home I found him on myspace.  "Happier Times" was the first song I ever heard by him and I was blown away!  I thought he was a new guy on the music scene, but it turns out he's been searing frets longer than I've been alive.  I felt such an idgit that I hadn't jumped on the Bona-bandwagon earlier, but hey, I'm enlightened now, so that's what counts! haha.

I ended up going to the previously mentioned show which happened to be on my birthday and it was one of the best nights of my life and definitely THE best live performance I've ever seen.  I couldn't have asked for a better present.   big_smile
Just recently I played my first-ever payed gig.  It was at a little dive of a bar near where I live and the pay was probably the bare minimum, but I was absolutely thrilled all the same and I decided I'd commemorate it by getting a signed copy of Joe's RAH DVD with the money.

I'm looking forward to chatting with you guys and even MORE forward to seeing Joe for my 2nd time this November in Huntsville!

Cheyloe,
Welcome aboard. Great first post...similar to a lot of the "Aha!" moments most of us have experienced when we first saw Joe perform live.

Well thank you thank you for such a warm welcome!  And Tres, that's so awesome that you were at that concert too.  Correct you are, my birthday is on Halloween, and I agree, the sound at the Alys-Stephens Center was fantastic.  I wish he were coming back to it this year because it's very close to where I live, but I got tickets for his show in Huntsville anyway, distances be damned.   tongue

Welcome Cheyloe. That's the spirit, distances be damned. No chance at a live Joe show is to be missed ever. Good luck with your playing too.

Haha, thank you!  I couldn't think of a better way to commemorate my first gig.  The DVD is awesome, btw (but you probably already know that, look at the website we're on!) They all look like they're having the time of their lives, and they all more than deserve to be there.

My name is pronounced "Shiloh," like the battle or the dog.  Long story short:  Mom wanted Shiloh, Dad wanted Cheyenne, Dad was obsessed with Native American lore, Dad compromised by finding a name in one of his books that was pronounced "Shiloh" but spelled "Cheyloe," which means "Star of Night," and so I was named. smile
