You had TWO that were broken?  Holy crap!  They ought to GIVE you one for pain and suffering!  I sent my first back because the neck seemed "twisted" when looking down the neck from above the headstock, my second was the same, but not nearly as bad, so I kept it.  But two broken ones? Man, I'm sorry for you!

Hmmm...  Been doing some investigating on Ebay.  They seem to have joints in differing places and of differing types.
Also, it looks like a scarf joint can indeed be broken:

I've seen some with the scarf behind the 3-4th fret, and some with a straight seam right across the headstock, between the tuner holes.  The Epiphone Nighthawks are the easiest to spot the seam/joint.  I dont think they have standardized their production at all.

New update from Gibson here in the netherlands.

The cases are not in the warehouse yet. They hope on a late June delivery and need to repack them.
They estimate they can deliver them to the dealers mid July.

So it is still a big waiting game.

I thought they had sorted that problem out with the new cases. Im gutted for him. I thought delivery wouldnt be until mid July though, according to a previous post?

I live in the netherlands so guess they solved the case problemen.

Has anyine ever heard of a guitar that has had so many problems, and particularly, broken necks? This isnt usual is it? Even for Epiphone? Im beiginning to resign myself that mine wont arrive in one piece.

I'm surprised to hear they are still having head stocks break.  I ordered one used off of musicians Friend that came perfect shape, and didn't pay a lot for it.  I recently sold it because I felt guilty that I was going to mod mine.  Shipped it to Austraila and the guy that bought it couldn't have been more happy with his purchase from me.  I wonder how much of this is the case and how much is really just poor handling by the shippers.  I insured mine that I sold for the FULL price of a new Epiphone JBLP and believe me people treat a package better when they know its on their hands not to screw it up.

I  had ordered a 4th one,just to be on the safe side,just in case the 3rd one came in busted. I sold it to Rythumplayer here on the site,packed it well,inside the case,detuned it,and shipped it in a 2nd box. Shipped it from Tenn. to Canada no problems.
