Topic: New here

I saw Joe two years running at the Maryland Bluesfest.  The first year I figured a freak occurance.  The next year I was blown away.  His show with Eric Clapton was cool too.  Lots of good stuff on the CDs.

Although I appreciate his originality I found myself wondering how he would do his own version of Sexual Harrassment in the Workplace.  FZ did a lot of ad-hoc stuff but this one was the one I thought was the bluesiest.

Then I imagined what a show would be like with Joe and Eric Johnson!  How bout Joe doing the lyric for Once a Part of Me....killer

Welcome to the forum, HelmetHead, from (I assume) a fellow Marylander.  We were damn lucky to have him 2 years in a row in Hagerstown.

I absolutely LOVE the Alien Love Child album but with all due respect to Joe's vocals....Malford Milligan can not be bested on that track, IMHO.  Everyone should download it, it's AWESOME!

Re: New here

I caught Joe in Hagerstown too, but I didn't realize he was at the Bluesfest two years in a row.  How did I miss that?  We saw him at the Maryland Theatre a few years back, and it was an incredible experience.

I'm from just across the MD/PA border and I hang out at music festivals in MD all the time, so I just wanted to say welcome, and "howdy neighbor."

Enjoy!

ChrisM:  Howdy yerself....I actually live in Thurmont and get to C'burg every once in a while.  Not to hijack this thread...but, if you're not doing anything on Friday, 10/8, my band Built4Comfort (see more at http://built4comfortband.com/home.cfm) that plays a nice mix of bluesrock and some blues-influenced classic rock covers is playing in Hagerstown at the Crazy Horse Steak House and Saloon from 9:00 pm to midnight....we even do a cover of "You Upset Me".

The food is great and the staff are friendly and we can use all the support we can get.  Drop me a line through the forum email to the bottom left of this page if you want/need more details.
