Here is my running order right now. Pics to follow.

Dunlop Cry baby
Pork Loin
TS808
Rothwell hellbender
Providence SOV-2
Deja Vibe
Boss TR2
DD3

Need to try and work a fuzz in there but have never really got on with them. A fulltone catalyst might fill the gap.

Here is the pic. I switched the SOV2 to first in line. Dynamic response seems better there. With this setup I can get in the ballpark of Joe, Robben Ford, SRV, KWS, Mato Nanji. The hellbender does a good Led Zep or Billy Gibbons. Very versatile few pedals.

With some tweaking you could get there. I have been considering the Axe FX for a while but I am afraid of spending all that money on something I haven't tried. I have always found with modelling gear that i end up tweaking and tweaking and tweaking. If it were me i'd go with eleven rack. Less amps to choose from.

I had a GT-8 for a while.  I spent more time futzing with it than I did playing.  I know people can get great tone out of it, but it just wasn't for me.  One day I'd get it sounding okay, the next day the same patch sounded terrible.  I've seen demo videos where it sounds great, though, so I'm not saying they're bad units.  Just too complicated and time consuming for me.

The Eleven Rack seems pretty easy to use, though, and more "amp like."  Definitely interested in that, although I wish there was place I could try before I buy.

Yeah a lot of love for the venerable Boss DD-3 delay around these parts.  Can't imagine why though...  Honestly mine runs through my dirty rhythm/fuzz part of my rig and it hangs in there with the 2 legendary Echoplex tape echos.  It's such a reliable and usable delay unit.

Re: The dedicated Joe Bonamassa forum pedalboard thread!

Here's my latest assortment: Cry Baby Classic > TU-2 > Keeley Ultra DS-1 (for humbuckers) > Blues Driver (for Strat) > TC Nova Repeater > DD-3 > Voodoo Lab Tremolo > BBE Boosta Grande > Whirlwind AB > Orange Tiny Terror & Fender 4 x 10 DeVille. It's really versatile and lets me do both blues/classic rock and contemporary Christian with tonal integrity without taking over the room.

Re: The dedicated Joe Bonamassa forum pedalboard thread!

Hey SoftMC,

How do you like your 2553? I have the same head in black, do you run the delay in the loop and are you using the EQ as a boost or on all the time?

E

Re: The dedicated Joe Bonamassa forum pedalboard thread!

Hey Big E

Yeh I really like th 2553 , so I use the eq for when I switch to the clean channel to
get rid of the icepick on clean channel cause the mids are set high for the lead channel
so when I change to clean I dial out the mids with the eq..
