Re: What makes you laugh/smile ?

Congrats to you Erin. see you believed you could do it and it happened, stay with that mindset for learning the rest of it.

What an awesome thread! I have been trying for a week now to learn the beginning solo from the fleetwood mac song called "so afraid" off of their live album The Dance. After continuous hours I have finally got it down. It's such a great feeling to accomplish something that you never thought you would, even as small as learning the first 4 minutes of a song on guitar! Ha!! Now to learn the rest.... lol

Re: What makes you laugh/smile ?

this is not a joke, there are some 20 to 30 bull sharks in this lake, ON the golf course. They are big and known to have a nasty disposition. The story is they were "washed" into the lake many years back during a large storm. The owner says he feeds them raw chicken frequently. STOP feeding them maybe?! lol I think I would just find another course that had ducks and such.

How to Lose Weight:

* hibernate during Twinkie season
* squeeze into designer jeans and don't eat until you can walk
* if you can't lose width, go for height
* eat only what you can grow
* share with faster eaters
* try the chew but don't swallow method
* do the Chinese diet - use only one chopstick

Getting invited to a celebratory luncheon put on by the Daughters of the American Revolution along with a bunch of other vets for a ceremony honoring the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War and those who served. I salute all my brothers-in-arms that were there. It only took 50 years for the official thank you letter from the President to arrive. Better late than never, it was well received by all the honorees.

More like 40 I think.  50 years ago was 1963, President Kennedy was still in office, Vietnam not escalated yet. wink

Yes, American involvement started 50 years ago!  40 since "the end." No mumbling, just smiles and all is ok. smile

Late Granpa (and others) got a late WWII letter from a late Mr. President.  They're pretty neat. big_smile

Hey, in Chicago they use the dead to elect the living. All over the country we elect the living dead so here's a new variation. roll

Not an entirely uncommon thing back in time, small towns New York, time past at least, wacky, yes, but no backy needed.  Could still be time to time...never know if Rip Van Winkle could win a downstate election, you know, awake, alert, ready to tell you exactly what's wrong now...... lol

Re: What makes you laugh/smile ?

Ok, this one had me laughing.  POLITICS ASIDE, understand this is hitting me after receiving notice that our family's health insurance policy can't be renewed for 2014.  So far, my only option is to pay 63% more than last year with an increase to $6,250 annual deductible before the insurance company pays anything. (the insurance company did keep our co-pay at $50 for each Dr. visit the same...ha, gotta' find some silver lining...) wink

If I was a prostitute and lived in Germany, I not only could get health insurance, but a pension as well. lol  Seriously, LMAO!!
