I'm kicking up my heels today with an ear to ear grin. The MRI for my granddaughter was clean with the added bonus of her vision almost back to normal! What a relief.

Re: What makes you laugh/smile ?

So this last weekend was my 56th birthday and I was given the opportunity to drive a sand rail dragster.  It was a absolute blast.  I didn't win (it was a powder puff division) but at least I got to do it.  Check that one off the bucket list.

My first practice run was 61.2 mph, second run 65.49 in 4.9 seconds.  My brother in law who was sponsoring me in this endeavor dialed me in for 4.8 for my actual race.  I blew the doors off my competitor but broke out at 75.33 mph in 4.299 seconds.  The sand drag strip is 100 yards.  It was such a rush punching the petal to the metal down the track.  I have a video on my facebook of it that my daughter took.

I'm in the left lane.  My brother in law had to help stage me since it was my first time and learning to anticipate the lights was tricky.

Thanks Rick for the belated wishes.

that is too cool and looks like it would be exhilarating. I had no idea it was that kind of car, thought you were talking about souped up dune buggys or something.

Re: What makes you laugh/smile ?

What an awesome thread! I have been trying for a week now to learn the beginning solo from the fleetwood mac song called "so afraid" off of their live album The Dance. After continuous hours I have finally got it down. It's such a great feeling to accomplish something that you never thought you would, even as small as learning the first 4 minutes of a song on guitar! Ha!! Now to learn the rest.... lol
