Re: Don Brewer Of Grand Funk The Rock N Roll Universe Interview

Hey Keith, once again thanks for the interview. I must say though that Don really didnt want to talk much about Mark Farner. Just for the record, here is an interview with Mark.

These two dont see eye to eye. Being that Im a huge Mark Farner fan, I have to take his side. I couldnt believe alot of Marks comments on Don. Im not totally sure that Marks comments were true but if they were, WOW! I cant believe that Don would pull that stuff. In the end its all about money though.

I hope they can put their differences aside and put out that Shea show! I seen that small clip of Im Your Captain and I want more!

Thanks Rob! Yes, Don definitely closed up when I asked him about Mark, and I had to switch gears really quick to get things rolling again. Was hoping to get more out of him regarding the issue but Don wasn't playing, as you saw lol

Sure did Rob. In fact, that was one of the ones I consulted when doing research, and had a slew of questions regarding what Mark said in that, but when you sense that it's not only a dead end street but a  potentially complete interview stopper, you have to go in another direction. There are always three sides to every story, i.e. yours, mine and the truth, and I was hoping to get Don's side, but he wasn't willing to travel down that road. He has said previously that Mark's account of things isn't accurate, so who knows? I wasn't there so I don't know who's right or wrong and I'm not going to speculate because of that. The bottom line is regardless, it would be great if they could put their differences aside and make some more music.

Re: Don Brewer Of Grand Funk The Rock N Roll Universe Interview

Cool interview Keith! I have to disagree with him on "An American Band" being one the greatest recordings of all time! He's a bit full on that I'd say. Iconic yes, and one of the most widely recognized rock songs ever, but....it kind of wears on me sometimes although the story line is SO VERY picturesque! Plus I have to say the first album (Grand Funk), On Time (one of the very best my opinion) Survival, Born To Die, and even Shinin' On & All the Girls of the World Beware! should be right up there too!

Re: Don Brewer Of Grand Funk The Rock N Roll Universe Interview

Keith, I too like to hear both sides of the story. Thats why Im glad you posted that but like you said, Don wasnt biting. I was hoping he would spill his thoughts. By the way Keith. Are you from the Detroit area? You seem to post alot of interviews with Detroit bands. Im not complaining though! LOL.

No Rob, not from Detroit, it just happens a lot of great bands are! Upcoming though will be an interview with a legendary Irish guitarist just to change things up a bit, but it's a good one in my opinion!
