Re: Ryan McGarvey

I've heard stirrings from a couple of local promoters that Ryan will be back touring (UK at least) around June/July next year; nothing definite as yet. Hopefully things have moved on from this year's family matters.

Re: Ryan McGarvey

From an email just received today from Linda Valentine;

And of course, all good things must come to an end, so I'll be bowing out for a while to spend time with my family and to rest up a bit.
But as Arnie says.......I'll be Back!  with Ryan McGarvey at The Sage in October 2018!  So watch out for updates on that.

As soon as date confirmed, I'll post of TT Gig Guide.

Anna, or anyone; do you know if Ryan has copies of the Live at Swinghouse album with him?  Just so I don't have to chance getting one through CD Baby in time for Hartlepool gig on 9th June.

I saw a posting somewhere that they would be on sale at the shows Mike.

Re: Ryan McGarvey

yes they have it there.
I bought my copy in Wegberg 2 weeks ago.

Ryan, Carmine and Logan signed it

Re: Ryan McGarvey

Kenny, Steinei;

Thanks for that. If CD Baby go through their usual procedures of torchlight precessions through Portland etc, I might have been lucky to get a copy in time for Ryan's Gateshead gig in October, let alone Hartlepool next month.

A friend over on Aynsley's forum has the download and gives it a thumbs up (as being in Texas, it's the nearest he's getting to a Ryan show for the moment), though he makes an interesting observation, there's no Kashmir section in Mystic Dream - copyright issues, maybe?

Re: Ryan McGarvey

Great showing at Hartlepool on Saturday night; I'd do my usual fuller review but I need a new thesaurus where Ryan is concerned. One new wrinkle in the show; Ryan's doing an acoustic section which is a real treat; unless someone corrects me, Ryan's not done a full acoustic show in the UK, so enjoy.

Mind; should have gone with first instincts re the Live album - stocks were SOLD OUT by the time he hit Hartlepool (and one of the older albums too).

Saw him last night at the Borderline and it ended up being a full acoustic show (Logan was ill so it was only Carmine and Ryan).  Completely surreal show.  Here is Pete's video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5EbgpQ … e=youtu.be

Thanks for sharing that - interesting & amazing in equal measure.

Anybody at Milton Keynes last night know if Logan's shaken off his bug?

Re: Ryan McGarvey

We saw Ryan twice while in the UK last week. Only way we can see him since he doesn't yet tour here in the States. Glad he had two shows while we were over there. The first one was at Beaverwood in Chislehurst. I hadn't seen Ryan since Joe's first cruise. Sure wish he would be invited back on. He is such an exceptional guitarist. He put on a killer show at Beaverwood and it was so wonderful to see Carmine again. Love that man. Wish the lighting had been better. The colors were out of control. Really wonder what lighting guys are thinking sometimes because it certainly doesn't help the show to constantly be changing colors. The second one we saw was at the Borderline and as Sandy mentioned in an earlier comment, that was a full acoustic show with just Carmine accompanying him on bass. Poor Logan had taken ill at the last moment. It was a totally unrehearsed, unplanned situation and Ryan handled it masterfully even with a dead battery at one point in the guitar and a broken string. Poor guy. I felt bad for him with all the issues they were having, but as I said he handled it like the pro he is and it turned out to be one of the most incredible shows we've seen. It really showcased his skill on the guitar and his vocals were more prominent. The "Blue Eyed Angel Blues" and "Mystic Dream" were absolutely brilliant. The lighting was superb so the videos look really nice. It truly was a special show and I am so glad there were so many of our friends there with us. Here are the videos from the electric show at Beaverwood. I am still working on the Borderline acoustic show.
