Re: Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience

True Rick but these days everything needs to be marketted at every possible opportunity like "after promoting the supergroup BCC project, just released, I will be working on the LZ Experience project"

Agreed Mike! We'll just have to accept that Jason is not the marketing mind that we wish. He's a great drummer and has never been associated with fronting an effort before to my knowledge. There's the difference between solo artists and sidemen. His association with BCC should show him the ropes.  smile

Trawled this up from A Zep site. A pretty good compilation including snippets from the first show and more.

Re: Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience

Last night's performance in Philadelphia was MORE than a night to remember.  I now know just what the doctor ordered, besides my annual check-up, I need a good live dose of Led Zeppelin once a year!!  Whether I'm getting it from Jason's line-up or my favorite tribute band, Get the Led Out.  Consider it my annual booster shot!!!   tongue

Our seats were 3rd row center. The best part of listening to the loud beyond loud riveting music of Led Zeppelin, was I could sing along, stand and dance and not bother one single person around me. And I never sang along so much at any show in my entire life, absolutely no one would be able to hear me, so any restraint I've ever felt about carrying a tune was zeroed out.   big_smile

SPOILER ALERT: Do not read any further if you want to be surprised....BUT, how cool is this???  The show opened right before the band came on the stage, with JOE BONAMASSA's Django playing while Led Zeppelin footage projected on a big screen...same kind of feel as Joe's entrance onto the stage at the Royal Albert Hall!! (Maybe this was mentioned before, not sure)

I will elaborate more later but all I can say is Jason Bonham's words throughout the show were very emotional & moving beyond any adjectives I can come up with right now.  Some of the footage of him and his dad, I had seen before, but there was also lots of new footage. There is one in particular that was hysterical when Jason was a toddler doing a little performance (kinda' a mini-me John Travolta moment  lol )while his mom and dad watched and another well done, very touching moment later on in the show.

JUST OUTSTANDING!!!

Re: Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience

Angela, thanks for the review, I was wondering how it went.  If it would've been closer (Philly is 2 hours away, that was the closest show on the tour), and if I had more money available right now, I probably would've gone.

By the way, I know my hunch on their singer's identity was wrong (I guessed Joe Retta of Led Zepplica, without hearing him, just based on Annerin having a relationship with that band), but I just gotta say......  Back when they were still trying to organize a Led Zeppelin reunion tour, and they were looking for a singer, I remember telling my brother they should get James Dylan, after he sent me some Virtual Zeppelin youtube links.  Is everyone here familiar with Virtual Zeppelin?  It's these guys who live in different parts of the world and they each record their parts separately and then mix their audio and video together, and it turns out surprisingly perfect... check it out...

And by the way, Angela, I'm a Get The Led Out fan too... I've streetteamed for them before, and I also just saw them a few weeks ago at the Strand in York.  Paul Sinclair's vocals are probably their best asset, and I often thought HE would've been a good one to pluck too, for either the Led Zep reunion tour or JBLZE.

Re: Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience

Thanks for that review Angela. I've heard nothing but good stuff about the show and I can't wait for my time to get here in a couple of weeks.
