Topic: The Subdudes

Anybody get into this New Orleans flavored band. The little woman and I along with some friends are headed out see them this afternoon at an outdoor BBQ @ a club in west Marin, hope the fog peels back for at least a little while. Got into these guys after hearing their '94 release Annunciation only to hear of their breakup in '96. They regrouped in '02 and have been releasing new material again. If you watch the new HBO series Treme you'll hear them pop up in the soundtrack frequently. They have a feel good sound that defies being categorized. A good listen for something different.

The 'Dudes delivered as usual and the sun actually showed itself most of the afternoon. I asked Tommy Malone their lead vocalist/songwriter about getting noticed on HBO. He said so far they've used 4 tunes he's written and compensated him nicely, or as he put it, "HBO been bery bery good to me."

I've never seen them, but I did see Tommy's short lived band "Tiny Town" open for ? (Little Feat I think) in D.C. When they started my group's favorite song, "Bad Day", we jumped up and cheered. I think we were the only ones that had heard of them...even the band looked shocked  big_smile  I lost my copy in the divorce, but found a used copy on Amazon thanks to your reminder wink   Sister Cate
