Topic: Joe B Les Paul Number 290 is now mine, oh yes. (Now with pics!)

I just bought it. It took a lot of tracking down- indeed scouring of the globe- I am overjoyed.

I have sold a 70's strat, an ES335 and a Les Paul Special to buy this........

I've had 'proper' stings put on it- GHS Boomers 10-46's.

How do I get it signed?

Good score, that's beautiful!  Some I've seen the aging wasn't so good, plus you can read "Les Paul Model" on the headstock smile  By 290 they really got their process down!

The aging looks great on that one!  I have 28 and if you look closely enough the "aging" is a tad amateurish.  And you're absolutely right about the les paul being readable.  Still my favorite guitar though.....

Congrats!

Go to a show early and see if you can set something up to meet Joe.  I'm sure he would be much obliged to sign one of his children!  Congrats on scoring a JB Les Paul, jakey!

Justin- Joe's children? I have a vision of Les Pauls flooding out of a womb and the umbilical being cut, leaving a perfect jack socket to plug into...........

Beautiful guitar Jakey. Signing should be easy. When we were at the back pre show in Bonn, once Joe got the word, he came hustling out to see and sign Pete's. It was the first sunburst he'd seen, I'm sure it's the only one in Europe. Joe loves his children!

LOL I hope if I ever have children that my wife would give birth to a Les Paul!  "Here you go sir, it's a beautiful baby....errrr....1959 Les Paul????"  But yes, Joe has mentioned that he cares deeply for his signature run in particular and is one of the most grateful guys out there with a Gibson endorsement.  He calls them "his children" being that he may never breed (what a shame, I bet your kids would be prodigies too).

The UPS Stork has just delivered a bouncing Bonamassa baby. I shall call it 290. It's not yet screaming or wailing, but I anticipate it will later.

Both baby and mother are in a stable condition.
