Re: Anyone for Golf ?

One for the ages Tres. Phil and Sergio trading blows and fighting to a draw at the top of their games. Unbelievable golf! A shining star on both of their illustrious careers. Others shone as well on both sides.
Perhaps Lefty's quiet tirade about past selections by the Captain proved the difference. He still has the fire and it seemed contagious.
Well done to the team. It's been 35 years since a decisive win.

Re: Anyone for Golf ?

Famous last words "see you in Paris". We were humbled indeed and now after a year off due to Covid they are back for another one at Whistling Straits in Michigan. I like our chances, Stricker made his captain's picks today, I am on board with all of them. This is Herb Kohler's (the faucet guy) course on the shores of Lake Michigan. It is a beautiful layout designed by Pete and Alice Dye. I thought some of the folks across the pond would appreciate a look at it hole by hole. They will start on Friday Sept 24 and finish with singles matches on Sunday the 26th. USA, USA, USA !!!

it was stunning Rick, and not just because USA won. The match with Phil and Sergio was incredible, both shooting 63s to end at all square. The bottom of the Euro order was just not strong enough to overcome USA. Reed beating McIlroy was priceless and set the tone for most of the remaining matches. I was very impressed with Pieters, the young man showed up and came to play.

See you in Paris in 2018......... USA, USA, USA !!!

I really dislike Brooks Koepka, he is a real horses ****. I wish we could substitute Billy Horschel who just became the first American ever to win at the BMW Wentworth. Billy went to college at Florida, Brooks went to Florida State ............ nuff said

Re: Anyone for Golf ?

It's time to go now, the opening ceremony is today at 4 PM CDT. The crowds will be with us but I see this as a much closer match than what most of the betting houses show. I like a lot of the Euros, I watch a lot of their tournaments. Lee Westwood and Helen are just too cute for words. How many guys get a kiss at the end of the round ? None but Lee. I like Poulter, and Casey, and Tommy Fleetwood. I like Tyrell Hatton, I call him Possum because of his face structure. Anyways, it starts up tomorrow morning at 8 AM EDT with four ball and alternate shot events. I hope you Euros get to see a lot of it, USA USA USA !!!

I was dead wrong, Whistling Straits is in Wisconsin. Hence the Euros were pandering to the gallery yesterday with the triangular cheesehead hats and throwing them into the crowds as souveniers. Very nice of them, I didn't think it was cheesy at all

Re: Anyone for Golf ?

and that will do it until we meet in Rome in 2023. As per the experts the Americans were just too much for the Euros on their own soil. It was a slaughterfest with USA going 3-1, 3-1, 3-1, and 2-2 in the first two days. That is too much for any team to overcome. We are happy to get the win, lord knows we needed it  ................... and now back to the regular seasons both PGA tour and the Euro tour

Rory McIlroy is a total class act, unlike some others I watch on tour. He had a tearful interview yesterday and said he wished he could have done more for the team. He went 1-3 overall but did win his singles match. And he said " I've never have really cried, or gotten emotional, over what I've done as an individual, I couldn't really give a shyte." Bottom line, golf needs more Rorys in it and much fewer Brooks Koepkas.
