His back seized up in the chilly fog while the start was delayed after he'd warmed up. It was painful to watch how much pain he was in. At the last he couldn't even stoop to pick up the ball from the cup. Local favorite Lefty also had a terrible outing. The course was as tough as can be since early rain made the rough grow long and thick. The South course was very difficult.

Some of the courses in Northern Wisconsin were supposed to open today, fresh snow on the ground this morning. Looking forward to seeing some of the young guys out there at the Masters. 15 days

Great 1st day of play. Speith was on fire, hope it continues, seems like a nice young man. Happy to see Ernie playing well also. Should be an interesting day.
