Uruguay with Germany ....... Great game i thought...... both teams wanting to win the game from the start.... hence the 5 goals. Could have gone either way..... but the luck was with the Germans

The city is full of orange flags and banners on every cafe and bar (there's even a huge orange flag flying on the Amstel Hotel!!!), loads of tourists with orange or Dutch flags on their cars, bikes, or backpacks, and on themselves....Dutch youth in all kinds of bizarre orange outfits...there's a major 'city party' going on here while there are local 'street parties' all over the country.....and despite last night's weather carnage, it's still bloody hot out there, around 30c.

edit - FIFA statistic - no team that has lost their first game at a WC (as Spain did) has ever gone on to win! 
And I thought floping in the NBA to try to get a call was pervasive. Seems like every trip from one side of the field to the other, someone stumbles and over-reacts to get a call.

A non-event. Paul the octopus had already decided the winner. 
After watching the Germany-Urguay match, this was a huge disappointment.

Half a foot higher and it would have been a good foul.

Really, that should have been a red card. We figured the yellow was a make up call by the referee for the bad calls he made earlier.
In my opinion they did play very hard...more than It should be, finally the one that wanted to play the ball was the one that won...
Casillas has made a couple of great games at the end...his savins against Robben has been definitive actions.

I guess. The whole thing was about as interesting as watching paint dry. I know I'm a stupid American and i don't get it, but hey, I'm a stupid American and I don't get it.

Not the most beautiful game, but anyhow: Congratulations to Spain. And to South Africa: nobody would have accepted that the whole thing was running so smoothly and in a good atmosphere.

The first half ... Holland were lucky to still have 11 men on the pitch, sorry, but Holland were a disgrace, not the same Holland i admired in the 70's.
The second half ... better football... both had chances to win.
Too many yellow cards.... but the Ref had no choice. Only one Red card... could have been many more.... spoilt the whole game for me.
Congratulations to Spain..... they deserved to win in the end.... and Paul got it right... again.... well done to him!

Viva Espana.
It wasn't the big and great final I wanted to see.
During the competition we've seen better games.
The final was kind of disappointing for me not only because of all the fouls but also because both teams had big chances to make goals but failed so often.
