Topic: Joe and Jeff in Bonn, July 19

It's time to make plans for the Big Roadtrip. Any attendees know of central hotels close to the venue in Bonn? Looks like 5 in our party.

Re: Joe and Jeff in Bonn, July 19

I don't know why nobody mentions Jimmy Bowskill, the 3rd J of the Bonn show. That guy rocks too.
Check the CD Jimmy Bowskill: Black Sea Star (Reggae goes Blues), Loser, Rattle Snake Shake, Diamond Ring.

I'm not from Bonn but spent there a weekend a few weeks ago in the hotel named first.

DERAG Hotel & Living Der Kanzler, Adenauerallee 148 **** and 1/2 star
€ 55 double room without breakfast and about 1,2 km away
It's a bit old fashioned with paintings of our German chancellors at the walls but it's a good deal for the money.
Ask for a room at the backside which is very silent.
Underground station just in front of the hotel and near to the venue.

Dorint Hotel Venusberg Bonn, An der Casselruhe 1 **** and 1/2 stars
€ 91 double room - breakfast included and about 1,8 km away
http://hotel-bonn.dorint.com/

Galerie Design Hotel, Kölnstraße 360-364 ***** stars
€ 87 double room - breakfast included and about 6 km away - a modern and stylish hotel
http://www.maritim.de/de/hotels/deutsch … hotel-bonn

Steigenberger Grandhotel Petersberg, Königswinter ***** stars
€ 109 double room without breakfast and about 7 km away
You'll have a great view at the Rhine and Bonn from there. It's very exclusive.

Bookings can be made via www.hotel.de or www.hrs.com

I've seen Jimmy Bowskill twice last year and he  really rocks! He's worth to be listened to!

I def will be on time and see him too. Saw him once and I totally agree with you and Soul Sissy!
I think Bonn will be big fun.
I'm staying at a camp site but like to see you all. So if you let me know where you are staying for a group meeting?

Re: Joe and Jeff in Bonn, July 19

Once again a server error and our posts where to meet before the show are gone.
And my slip of paper where I noted the addresses too, but I could found something in the browser history.

Nice Biergarten about 1 km away from the venue:
Rheingarten, Charles-de-Gaulle-Str. 53, 53117 Bonn Rheinaue
http://www.rheingarten-bonn.de/

I'll try to be there at about 2:00 pm.
Concert will start at 6:00 pm / Admission at 5:00 pm

Here some impressions how the "Museumsplatz" looks like:

http://www.epochtimes.de/pics/2007/08/2 … ster_2.jpg
I haven't been to an open air in Bonn before and have no idea how many people will be there but the venue has a capacity of about 8000 people.

Re: Joe and Jeff in Bonn, July 19

Thanks, Soul Sissy!
I'll put the adress in my Garmin now. So I won't loose it.
I'll be at the Genienau-campsite and at 1400 at the Rheingarten!
(Should we make reservations?)
Check your hotmail for my plans at this Philip/Joe weekend!

Re: Joe and Jeff in Bonn, July 19

Thanks for the repost Sissi. We'll be there about 1400. I have a meet and greet arranged with Pete the Cabby so his git can get signed but I don't know when that is yet. Maybe Suzanne's Facebook event registry should be the backup for messaging as we get closer to the date. I think there are about 20 forum fans showing up so far. We are coming in to Bonn the day before the concert.

Re: Joe and Jeff in Bonn, July 19

Safely here, Pete's #12 made it unscathed although I had to throw a fit to get it aboard as hand carry in New Jersey airport. Luckily I had a printout of the special high value hand carries allowed which include musical instruments. This is in addition to the normal hand carry allowances for those that want to take their instruments.
