Don't know what happened on the last post. But I was basically saying that if you want versatility then the new james tyler variax looks hard to beat.  Mag pickups as well as the sounds from the variax. Not the most authentic sounds in the variax but they do come pretty close. I reckon they must be good if steve howe can use one in place of his beloved ES135.

wow. they got one that looks like a Les Paul now. I'm glad to see Line6 isn't sticking with the old ones that looked like toy guitars from KMart. I remember seeing the warmoth dot com replacement bodies and necks for the variax guts and thinking it was one of the most brilliant ideas ever. those necks on the original variax guitars felt like utter crap!
