Hey, at least you remembered the Seaway Plaza! Wasn't it called the Seaway Shopping Center?
Rock On & Keep the Faith,
RocketCould be. I haven't lived there since 75. Now I bypass that town like the plague. More fun at the lake, Alex Bay or visiting friends at Lake Bonaparte. Bet you've been to a party or two there back in the day!?
Uhm....Yes! My first residence in Northern New York was at Lake Bonaparte, moving there from Central New York as a mere child of 5. I believe I have partied on every shore of that wonderful lake...and some offshore thrilling too! Lake Ontario, well not every shore, it's too darn big. You got me thinking about Ronnie & Elf at the infamous Gaslight, I think they did play there (and played some covers?) & it seems like in one of my teenage blind amble missions I was there, though underage & of course, passing for older with no requests for ID. That beard I had paid off well . You have to understand Watertown was and still is "big city" for most residents in a large radius. I remember Watertown was the only place to get Elf records at all in the North Country. I can't recall what it was called, but it, a small select record store, was somewhere in or just off "The Square". I remember I was buying some other records I could only get there, and I had a last minute trade-off and put LA 59 back in the bin for "next time"....next time I was there (and it wasn't but a mere two weeks, but those upstate winters increase the need for simple pleasures, including music!) it was sold out and never seen again by me, except I did have a couple of friends who had it. He and his band were viral and it was presumed he'd hit the big time...Did he ever...Didn't change him... You have to respect that.
An amazing musician, inspiration, friend... Sadly missed but gladly remembered.
