Topic: Luther Allison

I don't know if you read these Joe but I have a request.  You do some of the best covers of old blues songs.  I have never heard you do a Luther Allison tune.  "Bad News Coming" and "Watching You" is right up your alley.  His does play in that mid range and crank the volume.  It is easier to hear mistakes this way but I couldn't imagine you borrowing these tunes and putting your brand on it.  This could have a similar sound to "If Heartaches Were Nickels."  There is so much emotion in his music.  If any of you haven't listened to Luther Allison you should give it a shot!  Rock on Joe.

Re: Luther Allison

Luther was a master.  Loved his music.  Left this planet way too early for this music fan.

JB playing LA tunes would be so cool.

Re: Luther Allison

Last week on holiday I bought his last CD with DVD -Songs from the Road-.

A must have for blueslovers!

Very strange seeing him play very intense at the Montreal Jazz Festival on July 4th 1997 knowing that a week later he was diagnosed with cancer and only a few weeks later he died  August 12th.

Like my father.........not the music of course.
