Nice Cornish Pedals!!  How are you powering all of those pedals on your board please?

Well almost- I have got a flight case on order for the pedal board as it's a tad heavy.

Sounds fabulous. I've got unity gain from the guitar to the output- something I've worked to get for ages.

Loving my Skrydstrupt delay too.....

Anyway- enjoy the pix.

i'd add that IMO people who look for Joe's tone spend too much time thinking about reverb and not enough on delay

Well, I think that is due to the fact that Joe's basic recipe for delay is such a simple one.  Just an easily available, non boutique digital delay (Boss DD-3) through the effects loop his his Jubilee.  Even Joe is a self professed reverb junkie.  He's had the Diaz reverb tank, Fender reverb tanks when they worked), Boss RV5 reverb, Boss DD3's set for both delay and a slapback/bathtub sound, TC 2290, etc.  That's a whole LOT of reverb and delay!  I think you do have a point however and I'll even throw another twist to it:  I think that people also get hung up on the reverb AND delay too much.  One of Joe's 3 tones is pretty much completely dry.  If you listen to his albums they are much more dry sounding than his live tone.  The guy doesn't need the reverb or delay to sound good, though live it especially helps if the room is dead sounding.  I think that's why you see so much echo/reverb in his live rig.

I still hold that the MIJ's DD3's and 2's are almost unbeatable. To put this is perspective, the best 2 boutique delays are said to be the Skrydstrup DDL and the COrnish TES. The DDL has a DD5 chip in it, the TES a MIJ DD2 chip.

However, he does use a 2290, which is fairly boutique!

Going back to your thrust, I agree- what Joe does is give space to his delay through a hint of reverb. I think parallel mixing is one of the keys to the size of the sound.

Re: My new rig- finished!

Good points.  I'll throw the Vintage Modified Empress Superdelay and Skreddy Echo into the mix.  The gear nuts seem to be freaking out over these as well.  Me, I'm currently trying to get my hands on a healthy EP3 and a pile of tape cartriges!  tongue

'67 and '74 Fender Twin Reverbs, '74 Marshall 1987 lead mkII, Metro Superlead 100. Pedals from TC Electronic, Ibanez, Dunlop, BK Butler, Electro-Harmonix, Fulltone, Maestro/Gibson, Loopmaster switching, VoodooLab, Boss. Gibson and Fender guitars, Dimarzio pickups.

Hahaha! The TES is amazing at Tape Echo sounds- so warm. DDL is more TC2290- which isn't a bad thing.

If you love tap sounds and analog, check out the Carl martin Delayla- very warm and organic.

I actually adore my MXR Delay II rack. Very very lush.

Everything Skreddy is good- haven't tried the Empress. TRex Replica also a great little thing, as is the MXR Carbon Copy. Lots of good ones- the one I really don't like is the TC Nova Delay- very coloured but presets are great.

The other tonemonster of Echo is the original blue SIB Echodrive. I'd probably amputate my dog's hind leg and call her Skater just to get one- been looking for 2 years.
