Topic: Philip Sayce

Philip is back in the studio this month recording his new CD with the legendary Kenny Aronoff on drums again. I was able to see Philip and Joe jam together last Nov in LA. I am lucky to have a DVD of that event. Hope that Philip tours next year so that people everywhere will get a chance to see this amazing player.

Re: Philip Sayce

Philip is one of my favorite guitar players from this generation and an excellent singer and songwriter to boot. I think he is absolutely amazing and definitely deserves to be more well known than he is. It'd be great to see him do his own large scale tour or support somebody like Joe so that he could get his name out there. I'm excited that he's bringing a new album out soon. I loved Peace Machine.

That video is amazing. Phil has really got the whole Hendrix thing down with the feedback etc.

Definitely. There used to be a video on youtube of him jamming with just the drummer in the studio. It was definitely the closest thing I've heard to Hendrix. Unfortunately, it's no longer on there.

Re: Philip Sayce

I think that might have been while they were recording the album "Peace Machine". I'm pretty sure its still on the videos section of his website www.philipsayce.com

The last 3 minutes of the video is fantastic.

Re: Philip Sayce

Yeah, I love his tone near the start where hes playing those clean hendrixy chords with the echoplex on. That sounds fantastic.

Phil is scary good.. I love the fuzzface thing he does... definately the future of the blues....  He is also a very nice guy, very humble very focused on taking the blues higher.. Also a very good singer... Joe Bonamassa

Re: Philip Sayce

Yeah I agree. I hope that Phil gets a good record deal or something for his new album. He should definitely be more well known.

Re: Philip Sayce

WOW, I just checked the video of Peace Machine on Phils site and yes David, the last 3 minutes of that video made the hair on my arms stand up. I absolutly love that Hendrix tone.

Take care everyone. And if I don't meet you no more in this world
Then ill, I'll meet you in the next one and don't be late, don't be late

Re: Philip Sayce

Earl,
I can't thank you enough for sending me this amazing video of Philip and Joe.  I feel obligated and fortunate to reoffer this dvd to a few of Joe's faithfull fans here.  So here's my offer, I'll take the first 3 people to e mail me with their mailing address and the lucky 3 will recieve a dvd of the incredible Philip Sayce with Joe sitting in on a few songs. There's a few of you who need not ask for a copy. I got you covered.
On the topic of reoffers and trading Joe shows, I think there should be a section on this site devoted to just that.

Take care everyone. And if I don't meet you no more in this world
Then ill, I'll meet you in the next one and don't be late, don't be late

Re: Philip Sayce

I received my copy Jeff.  Thank you so much for sharing.  I enjoyed watching Philip Sayce tremendously.

Re: Philip Sayce

Glad everyone likes the video. I apologize for the freeze up while Joe is playing. I am expecting a new copy soon and will reburn for anyone who's copy is bad.

Take care everyone. And if I don't meet you no more in this world
Then ill, I'll meet you in the next one and don't be late, don't be late
