Re: Happy Birthday Robin Trower

The years are rolling on.....
Ex Procol Harum of course, but got his big break with his own band in 1974 with the album, Bridge Of Sighs. Beautiful album cover, by the way, IMO.
Happy Birthday Robin.

Happy Birthday Mr. Trower. Bridge of Sighs was one of the first albums I ever bought with my own money way back in the early 70's. It still rocks today.

Thanks for the link Pete. Don't you if you followed the associated links as well but there were some great vids of the band in B/W from the '70's which I had never seen before either.

Jimmy Dewar provided so much to Robin's music, a fact he always recognises. They were a fabulous band at that time. I saw them many times and I was a Trower obsessive back then, turning people on to him they way I would do with Joe today. It dates me I know but I even had a copy of BOS on an 8-Track in the car! Aaaaargh, who remembers them?

Caught him live for the first time in 20 years in Hanover last year. Davey Pattison did a fine job on the vocals, another Scot with great pipes whose work with Ronnie Montrose in Gamma I always loved. Jimmy D is sorely missed though.

Belated Happy Birthday wishes to one of the very finest guitarists of his or any other generation, and a gentleman to boot.
