Paul Jones & Dave Kelly

I had the pleasure of seeing Paul Jones and Dave Kelly perform last night at the 'up and coming' Vonnies blues venue at King's Charlton nr. Cheltenham Gloucester, UK. They are both members of The Blues Band but also tour as a duo. I always feel humbled by seeing players at this level - awesome.

Paul's singing and his harp playing were truely superb but I was really blown away by Dave Kelly who plays slide guitar in a very powerful way . Dave's rendition of Crossroads Blues had an explosive impact on the audience, I doubt anyone could play it better.

It was a friendly night in a small seated venue with Paul telling lots of anecdotes and jokes and circulating before and after the gig.

Anyway, it was nice to meet the man who gave Joe a leg up in the UK, via his 7pm Monday Night BBC Radio Two broadcast.(You can podcast his show or BBC iPlayer it, if outside the UK)
