I invested in the Clearsonic combo shield last week and have to say that I'm extremely impressed with it. It has allowed me to crank the amp up much higher and get to that tube sweet spot. It really smooths out the amp as well.
I investigated the make your own route and here in the UK it was about the same money to get a Clearsonic panel.
I've tried it at rehearsal and it was far improved over normal, both for me sonically and the singer for volume. I've just got to wait a few weeks for our next gig to see what the soundman thinks.
