I've had this little baby since around 88 I think. It's a 1971 Super Bass 100w head 0031C but someone has tried to alter the last C so it looks like a 0. It was like that when I got her.

It's also kind of loud in a testicle flapping kind of way.

Does the img tag not work on this forum?

If it's too loud for you I can think of a good home for it!

Re: gotta tell you about my new amp..

It is great to see someone so enthusiastic about Kossoff's tone. Though his set-up seems "simple enough", getting his tones is far from just plug'n'play. I remember reading an interview with Dave Murray of Iron Maiden (yes they're on of my guilty pleasures) when he tracked down and bought Kossoff's 1957 Fender Strat. And what was even better, he used it on the road for a long time. Cool to see that stuff such treasures gets used rather than ending up in Steven Segal's basement (no offense).

I believe he also put two DiMarzio hum-buckers in it, replacing the original Fender single coils. I suspect that meant he had to gouge some wood out of the route to accommodate them. But then with Kossoff allegedly sanding off the finish from two bursts, then it's probably fitting that the Strat was modified as well.

As you say at least it's had a good working life and not stuck on some lawyers wall or in a vault somewhere.

There are 10 kinds of people who understand binary.
Those who do and those who do not.
