Topic: Building a guitar

Has anyone tried it?

I've seen the parts of a gibson Les Paul all quite cheap online (except humbuckers which cost a small fortune) and am now thinking of buying all the pieces to assemble a Gibson for what should cost less then £150 rather then £2,000 odd ready made, has anyone tried this before, if so how did it work out and do you have any pictures?

I used to build guitars from plank form..

What you are suggesting is more like a jigsaw puzzle.. If you understand the mechanics and are happy tinkering around with tools and stuff then go for it, lots of fun to be had!

If not... it can be a lot harder then simply bolting bits together!
