Topic: Gov't Mule at Melkweg, Amsterdam

What a night!

I was beginning to think I was a bit mad going all the way to Amsterdam to see Gov't Mule but not now. The whole trip was fantastic right from meeting George & Cathy on Tuesday evening for a superb Indonesian meal to rockin' out with them on Wednesday in the company of the Mule.

Here's the set list  :

Set 1
Blind Man In The Dark
Bad Little Doggie
Stepping Lightly
Endless Parade
Broke Down On The Brazos
Slackjaw Jezebel
The Letter
So Weak, So Strong
30 Days In The Hole

Set 2
Lucky
Banks of The Deep End
Brighter Days
Like Flies
Drums>
Amsterjam
Railroad Boy
Monday Mourning Meltdown
Mule>
3rd Stone Jam>
Mule

Encore:
Forevermore
Soulshine

I was in a state of ecstasy all evening. You'll see from the set list that there was a good sprinkling of tracks from the great new album plus some real old favourites – Bad Little Doggie, Slackjaw Jezebel, Banks Of The Deep End – wow. Then they went and played Soulshine as the final encore. It was a beautiful thing - the whole Melkweg singing along to the chorus.

Seeing Warren Haynes perform has been a huge ambition of mine for some time. Now, not only have I achieved it but the reality outdid all my expectations. What a night cool

Re: Gov't Mule at Melkweg, Amsterdam

Earlier on I bought the recording of the Melkweg gig from Mule Tracks. No, I wasn't mistaken. The show was just as fantastic as I thought it was at the time.

Now I can't come down. Watching Joe triumph at Southampton on Tuesday, then re-living the Mule again. Somebody throw me a line yikes
