Topic: Birmingham radio contest winner sold guitar
Halloween afternoon myself, my wife and another couple have driven from Pensacola FL to Birmingham AL to catch the show at the all too proper PAC on UAB campus. We are having dinner and drinks 2 hours before showtime at a popular sportsbar a couple miles from the venue. I am enjoying our time with a third couple which we have planned to meet now for a couple days that live in B-town. I of course have my "Live From No Where In Particular" jersey on in the pub. I suddenly notice a couple across a short way from us and the man is waving tickets at me. Realizing that he is either going or selling I walked over and chatted at his table and he was selling and....ended up selling the tickets he had just won for less than HALF PRICE......come to find out he had won a Radio contest to meet JB and had the autographed gee-tar in his trunk which was signed just a couple hours prior. They were going to a football game and had no intentions of going to the show or keeping the guitar......thankfully the mans wife was convinced of my interest and KEEPsake of the 6 string and he sold it for 165 clams......I don't care what it's worth....it will be in my music room till I join SRV and Hendrix in the Great Gig in the Sky!....I never thought there would be another song writer/musician that would make me feel like a teenage school girl going to a Loverboy show!!......however I was incorrect in my negative assumption.....Joe, Triumph was one of my grade school bands that still resonate nicely with me. Ever considered a cover?.....maybe Thunder Seven's "Little Boy Blues"? .....we wish you the best in your future endeavors and skillfull writing which you have already accomplished......Dave and Karen Jackson, Pensacola
