Topic: Biscuit Miller & The Mix

Hey, everyone....playing catch-up here, busy weekend.

Wanted to give y'all a heads-up about a talented and entertaining group I saw in my area on Friday night, Biscuit Miller & The Mix.  I'd heard Biscuit's name from Rhonda (Photogal) and when I saw that he was playing in a small (relatively) local tavern in my area (KClinger's in Haover, PA), I checked out his website and a few YouTube vids and decided to brave the elements (torrential rain) and go see what the fuss was about.

FWIW, he is a bassist and toured with Lonnie Brooks, the famous Chicago bluesman, for some time and also played in Anthony Gomes' band.

Anyways, he and the band (Paxton Norris, guitar; Tyler Mac, guitar; Myron "Dr. Love" Robinson on drums) played two high-energy sets of funky, groovy, rockin' blues and had the small but enthusiastic crowd dancing within a few songs.  The band is tight and the groove is contagious.

Had an opportunity to chat with everyone between sets/after the show and they were all very nice, turns out a couple of them had just hung out with Joe around his Indy show (their home base) and they had just been watching the RAH video in the van on the 10-hour drive from Indy.  Tyler, who can't be much more than 20, raved about Joe and was very flattered when I said I could hear Joe's influence (they played a very Joe-ish verion of "Blues Deluxe").

If you want a partying good time with your music, go check these guys out.

Glad you had a great time Carl! It is so important to support these great artists and bands working hard and sometimes struggling to make a living. I know Tyler is a big fan of Joe!
Hope they get back to St. Louis soon!
