Topic: Bare knuckle mule pickups: how do they compare?

Tried the bare knuckle mules? How do you rate them against gibsons? Are they higher or lower outut than 57's?

Higher, but still a low output pup.

I have Bare Knuckles in all my guitars - including a pair of Mules in my G.L.P - for me, they far exceed any of Gibsons pups (especially the T's).

They just make everything tighter, the cleans are better and handle higher gain quite superbly.

Okay, they are pricey - but have a look around - I bought four sets off ebay and a couple of those were less than half the RRP. cool

I would second that- I have two Custom Shop '58 LP's, one with Mules - and whilst not high output, they seem to be less muddy than the standard burstbuckers, clearer and less 'foggy' when you turn 'em down.   In fact the neck position sounds rather like a fatter strat pickup- quite clear with bell tones...

This don't look like no express way to me...
