The DSL is cheaper and versatile, but cannot compete with the JVM's 4 completely seperate channels.  The DSL has shared EQ so if cleans are important you may need to sacrifice the distorted tone slightly.  The JVM has no comprimises IMO.  I run my DSL on the Lead one (red) channel and roll the volume back on the guitar for cleaner stuff.
